Be aware!
I was kind of disappointed in this book. I bought it to read with my children 3rd-8th grade. I feel parents should be aware that this book dedicates a few pages that talk about how she fell in love with a married man. It kind of paints the picture that she was a poor victim because the man apparently didn’t love his wife anymore but wouldn’t leave her. I just think parents should be warned Incase this goes against what you want to teach your children.

Great Book
I can't say enough about these "who was" books. My granddaughter (age 7) loves reading them and learning about great historical figures. I have never seen her so interested in reading! Yes, these books do tell the truth about a subject and the time frame in which they lived. This can be objectionable and/or disheartening to some but these are facts, rather one agrees with them or not! The reality of life is people can achieve greatness! They can also fail on their journey. They can also overcome their mistakes. We have read 3 of these "who was" books so far and I think all of these books inspire young people and open the door for additional discussion between the young reader and an adult. I will be buying more "who was" books.

True stories for children
I've loved this series for several years initially giving them to my godchild and now to my children. They are easy to read biographies. This one of Marie Curie was my daughter's favorite: glad that she's learning of smart women who were independent and strong. Parents: be aware that the books do mention the themes of birth, death, cancer, war, sexism, violence, etc.

These are great books. All of the Who Was books are ...
These are great books. All of the Who Was books are excellent for young readers. My daughter gets very excited when she can teach us a little something about history and she seems to truly find things interesting. I think this is a great read for grades 3 and 4

Not as good as other “Who was” books
I found this book very poorly written, not even comparable to other books in the “Who Was” series. Marie Curie deserves a better book. Don’t waste your money.

Great series
My third grade daughter asked for this for Christmas. She read it quickly and loved it! A month later and I’m still getting random Marie Curie factoids once in a while! Great series!

Great summary of her life
This book was great for my biography project for school. It tells all the most important things of her life and came in great condition.

Very informative book! Kids learn a lot from these Who was, Where was or is, and What is or was books.

Bought for my grandchildren - two girls
Bought for my grandchildren, I was not sure what to expect from the series but I was pleasantly surprised by the concentration on text rather than pages covered in colour pictures. The text allows the reader’s mind to create the picture.Enjoyable.

Great purchase
My 7 year old daughter loved this book. It was her first big girl book.:) She even dressed up as Marie Curie for world book day at school. We are now planning a trip to the museum in Paris to see her work. You can tell it really made an impression on my daughter.
