If you just read the comments you see, without clicking on "read more", you will miss some important info.These are the real serious pruners that I have been looking for. Wow are they super sharp! I just got these and I tried them out on some real strong about 5/8" heavy grained hard wood branches and cutting them was effortless. They are heavier than Coronas, or Goniccs (I use both all the time in my landscaping and maintenance business) but that does not bother me, as I need to power through branches with accuracy and a very clean cut. These pruners do that in a wonderful way!I can't wait to try them out at my next day of work. I like the holster, btw! I do not know if women will like these pruners as they are heavier than most and appear larger & slightly longer than most. Yes, reviews said these pruners were not a problem for small hands, I just think they feel large in my large normal sized male hands, not uncomfortable at all. If I had a hand smaller hands, I do not know, if I would have the same level of comfort. But, hey Amazon has a super return policy. At this price I am buying another pair. If weight and size are a consideration, I''d consider the Goniccs.I am starting up a new company with a big focus on pruning, and these pruners/shears will be purchased by me again and again and again, my future employees are going to love them. For shear power, and a very clean cut, go for the PROFESSIONAL PRUNING SHEARS, they are heavy-duty!UPDATE: These are super pruners that work well throughout a day's work. Also, I am of the opinion now that size and weight really does not need to be a concern to me any longer. Also, I bought several more as gifts for family, and a key worker of mine. I am buying more later as needed.______________________________________________________________UPDATE: JULY 31, 2017: IT IS NOW ABOUT 5 WEEKS INTO USING THESE WONDERFUL PRUNERS IN MY LANDSCAPING BUSINESS AND AT MY HOME. THESE PRUNERS STAY SHARP, NEED VERY LITTLE SHARPENING, AND THEY HAVE A DISTINCT FEEL THAT IS UNIQUE. WHEN YOU PRUNE SOMETHING IT HAS A FEEL THAT GOES "SNAP." IT IS HARD TO DESCRIBE, THERE IS A NICE FEEL TO WHEN IT COMPLETES THE CUT. ITS 5 STARS IS WELL DESERVED. I HAVE BOUGHT A TOTAL OF 6, ONE FOR MYSELF, THE OTHERS AS GIFTS. THE OTHERS ARE GETTING WONDERFUL COMMENTS MADE ABOUT THEM..------------------------------------------------------------UPDATE October 3, 2018:I still have the pruners, the subject of this review. They still remain excellent pruners and they have held up well. I sharpen them regularly, and oil them regularly. Even the pruner pouch has held up. I still enjoy the 'snap' when I use these pruners on each cut.UPDATE: 11/10/19The original Pruners finally bit the dust a few months ago, and stayed sharp to the end. What did them in was the "stopping peg" that keeps the 2 handles from going into each other. It is welded to one handle and the weld broke. Wish I had a photo.The price is still reasonable, however, I was disappointed they broke. I have found other Pruners that aren't built like these Pruners with the welded peg.

After looking at all the "big box" stores with their very thin selection of pruning shears, I again turned to Amazon and found these. Being rather small, my wife had some doubt if she could handle these shears easily..... guess what.... she could. Once in her hand, she can now tackle the toughest jobs in her garden and just snip right through thick-ish branches on her roses and other bushes. They are VERY sharp and with little effort she can now do her fun work easily. The handy pouch is great for her to store the shears and so far we have not even had to think about cleaning the blades. It cuts, not gnaws!!!! Give 'em a try.... we are so glad we did.

These are so nice! Exceeded my expectations. I have owned several sets of pruning shears and have been discouraged in the flimsy construction of them, they just didn't last. But these are so different, sturdy and sharp. I like that the blade is one piece with the handle. The blade is very sharp. I don't have very big hands and so I need good hand tools. My husband however is big and burly and he loved them too! He was impressed with the quality. One other thing, I garden a lot and tend to leave my shears in the flower beds or weeds, etc. The bright red handle shows up well and helps me locate them quickly and not lose them. The sheath is very nice as well. Very well priced and fast delivery.

I bought these in 2016 and originally wasn't pleased and the seller replaced them immediately. At that time my major complaint was the kind of lame faux leather strap they used as a lanyard to keep them closed that didn't look like it would last a week since the "leather" separated the first day. But after years of use these are serious clippers. I can sharpen them in the field with the file on my Leatherman, they will cut through 3/8" and even thicker blueberry cane and they take a beating. A little spray lube on the spring and they are good to go. These are by far superior to the 5x more expensive lightweight throwaway clippers sold by Cutco with their "lifetime" warranty. Buy these. They are awesome and the seller is first class.

The saying "All is well that ends well" pretty much sums up my buying experience. The shears are high quality and attractive gardening tools with a handy pruner sheath. My only concern was that the scissors arrived with several areas of chipped paint on the handles (very unsightly) that could scratch the skin on your hand. I decided to return them because of these concerns. Beville Gardens promptly refunded my costs, but the thing that impressed me the most was that they were very concerned when I told them that the shears had arrived cosmetically defective. Beville Gardens immediately sent me a second pair of shears, and they were in perfect condition. They are almost too nice looking to use (very sharp blade and heavy metal construction). I respect this company for the professional and prompt resolution of the problem. Beville Gardens showed me that mistakes can happen and that a quality company like this one can quickly correct them to the customer's satisfaction. Impressive shears and excellent customer service.

I wanted to like these shears since just going by their appearance and other reviews I felt like they would be great.Unfortunately once I began using them, I found several things I didn't like. Even after repeated usage, the action of the shears is very sticky, and not fluid at all. Like others have mentioned the leather loop to close is annoying and not very sturdy.It is all metal construction, and they will probably last a long time but since they are not comfortable or easy to use I doubt I will put these shears to use very often regardless.
