A well researched book on tropical gardening.
Ralph Trout has done a tremendous job putting together this vast wealth of gardening tips, plant ID's and Caribbean anecdotes.I reside in Costa Rica and there is no reference book available there that explains tropical plant life better. The food section is also well rsearched with delicious recipes and is an added bonus to this book. Mr Trout thank you for this excellent manual on tropical gardening.G McIverCosta Rica

This book is amazing. There are a LOT of great recipes for dishes I"d never hear of, but look delicious. I live in a fairly tropical climate in Texas and the growing tips would do well here. Even if you don't garden, learning how to cook so many great Caribbean dishes makes this book very worthwhile. A great find, thanks Mr. Trout!

Great all-around Caribbean garden information
This is a great read even if you do not have these plants in your garden. You get a lot of information about plants including history and medicinal properties. I recommend this book to anyone interested in plants or then Caribbean. I hope there is a North American version sometime soon!

The book has several small typos which I find funny, but it is incredibly well written with invaluable gardening advice. It covers everything you need to know. The recipes in the back are also very cool and unusual.

Wasn't what I expected
This book is good, but it wasn't what I expected. I think for a starter book it has an ok amount of info in it, but i would not compltely rely on it as a resource when there are many others out there.I cannot comment if this is plagerised or not as I cannot get ahold of the other authors version.
