Incorrect historical note.
My mother has a signed copy from the author, Max Ehrmann, who was a friend of my great grandfather in Indiana. The date 1692 is when the church was founded, not when the writing was found.

The text is wrong!
The second to the last line of this poem is NOT be “careful.” It’s be “cheerful.” Nice typography but it’s wrong!
