Very nice waffle iron
Breville surprised me I didn’t know they made a waffle iron, so id had and still have a Breville juicer and it’s exceptionally good and very smart design which also carries over to their other products. I couldn’t be more pleased with this purchase, makes very nice waffles, and the overflow design is very pleasing. Fun and easy to use and easy to clean as well, just don’t burn yourself!! Breakfast just got kicked up a few more notches! If you can spare the money this is a fine item. Made in Canada.

Excellent Product. Well Worth The Price.
I love this waffle maker. Breville hit this out of the park. No having to flip it. It has 6 power levels. The booklet recommended starting with level 3. I agree with that. When you turn the unit on and choose the darkness level, just wait for beeps and a ready light, then add the batter in the center. Close the lid, and wait for beeps telling you it's done. Easy! Plus the waffles are evenly cooked. Should you put in more batter than is necessary, it has a wide overflow area. It's also truly non-stick. I haven't made many waffles yet, but I've not needed to using any oil or cooking spray. My last waffle maker doesn't hold a candle to this one. Thank you Breville.

Superb waffle maker
This is a very nice waffle maker, but this is only based on short term usage (Used it four times so maybe 20 full size waffles) Makes a good evenly browned waffle - crispness on the outside (depending on the setting) and soft on the inside. The moat is a useful feature; however, you should still aim for minimizing overflow. Once you use it, this will be easy to estimate. If it significantly overflows into the moat, it will not make a mess, but you will notice that the top will brown more. The waffles detach easily - there is a lot of surface contact so don't expect to just rip them off, they will likely tear. Just pry gently with a suitable tool, and you will not have any issues. The initial odor from the non-stick surface seems less than with others I have tried, though it is still there. I have found I use the maximum browning setting, but I am also using a gluten free mix. Not sure if the gf makes a difference; may just be that I prefer a crispier waffle. Breville is kind of like the Ferrari of kitchen appliances; they are stylish and perform well. The styling is a bit different. At first it looks a bit unbalanced because of the large moat, but this is such a nice feature and the appearance grows on you after a short while. The stainless steel is noticeably heavier than other brands. The handle is sturdy, the sides are plastic, but the part you touch is stainless steel. It feels heavy which is a good thing. The underside has a cut out for making the cord shorter or for storing the cord when not in use. It is odd to see a kitchen appliance like this with a grounded plug (3 wire) - maybe this is a European requirement? The plug is also very different in appearance as it is shaped with a pull to make removal safer. It's a bit pricey, but I believe you are paying for quality. It has gone up in price from when I bought it. At $149 it is $20 more than I paid

Works as sadvertised
Typical Breville high quality! Totally automatic, and machine is easily stored. I found that I had to use the highest cook setting for typical medium-brown waffles. Cooking multiple waffles, one after the other, is a cinch. And any waffle mix overflow is not a problem since if it runs into the overflow "gutter" it cooks, too, and is edible. Using a standard waffle mix with a bit of vegetable oil added means the cleanup is so easy with the special non-stick surface that I just take a quick wipe with a paper towel and sometimes it might even get skipped! Note that, by design, this machine quickly makes relatively thin (dividable) waffles, compared to thick Belgian waffles

Excellent waffles at your preferred darkness, easy to clean
So far, I am really happy with this waffle maker. We replaced an old rectangle type waffle maker that had no custom settings, no audible alarm, and was being held together by tape. This one is a huge step up from that. I chose the Breville because I have used their products before and have been happy with the quality of them, I wanted a round non-Belgian style waffle maker that allowed me to fine tune the darkness of the waffle, and I wanted something that had an audible alert. Waffles cook evenly, which is very important. Cleanup is a breeze too, which is also very important since this isn't something you can just wash in a sink or dishwasher. The little moat around the edge works exactly as advertised, catching any overflow and cooking it to make for easy cleanup. The latch on the lid to lock it when storing is extremely helpful since you often have to grab it by the handle to get it in and out of the cabinet. The audible alert is easy to hear. When storing the waffle maker, the waffle maker has a place underneath to wrap the cord to keep it out of the way. The build quality of this waffle maker meets my expectations in every way except for one minor defect on our unit. On the rear outer side of the waffle maker, an area that is not used for cooking nor comes in contact with any food, I found a chip in the non-stick coating. It doesn't appear to be flaking, which could allow the exposure to become larger with time. Since it isn't in the cooking area and doesn't appear to be in a condition that could get worse, I decided to not exchange the unit yet and observe it during its warranty. If it wasn't for this minor flaw, I would be giving this review 5 stars.

It says no mess, but I have indeed made a mess with it. I get it, if you don’t overfill it then it won’t goo out, but if you do there’s a little catchment that it falls into. if you put way too much it will fall out everywhere. I KNOW, from experience. It does make perfect waffles everytime and it’s easy to use and easy to clean. Very happy with this purchase

It really is no mess. It’s easy to clean. Easy to use. Has easy to follow recipes included. And if you know Breville you will appreciate the classic quality that their products are known for. Worth the extra money.

Indeed, the "no mess" waffle maker keeps the cooking area extremely clean and tidy. There were times when the waffles did slightly stick, but it was nothing a poke with a spatula couldn't fix. Once turned on, the Breville "No Mess" waffle maker heats up to cooking temperatures in about 5-6 minutes. A light on the front panel indicates that it is ready for the batter. Pour batter, close lid, light turns off, wait a couple minutes, and bam. The machine will beep three times once the waffles are done. I used a spatula to push the waffles onto a plate so no issues there - no stick, no mess. The moat surrounding the waffle are hot and cooks all the excess batter when you close the lid. The tabletop that the machine is on is clean and spotless after the job. For cleaning, I simply wiped off the nooks and crannies with a damp cloth to ensure that no bits and pieces were stuck inside, other than that - super easy. All in all, a wonderful purchase - couldn't have asked for more!
