This is the 3rd model bought. Previous two failed after second use and got stuck with them. I love the top eject control and automatic load - it makes it stable and one-handed rather then tray models that require both hands - one to hold the back from sliding and one to push the tray.It worked on Win10 software install, DVD copy, music and video play using both USB and C connector.

I ordered this player and received a unit which had trouble reading discs that other players I own had no trouble with. Thinking this may have been a defective unit, I returned it for a second unit. The second unit had similar problems. Both units were incredibly noisy and failed to read many of the discs I tried. I returned the second unit as well and I won't be replacing it with a third unit.

I bought this to use with my 2018 MacBook Air (Mojave, OSX 10.14.6). It worked fine, "plug & play." I can burn & read data DVDs (OSX's built-in burner) and I can watch commercial movie DVDs using VLC or OSX's DVD player.A few quirks: for some reason the Mac's progress indicator when burning a DVD doesn't update as it burns with this drive, so you just have to wait patiently until it's done without the reassuring bar.Physically, it doesn't rest quite right on the desk. The thin rubber ring it stands on is slick and the drive tends to "squirm" a bit when in use. I suspect some 2-side tape will solve that.All in all, a good buy.

It is quite easy to use. To install the Tax software on my MAC book, I have to buy an affordable CD/DVD Rom. It is thin, which is great to take it along with my notebook. Operation is easy. Plug it in and it become the external memory device. Currently I just use it to read my CD to install software. But it functioned quite well.

Ive tried watching movies on it, and found that it does not always want to play. Make sure to ultra clean the disc before hand, the smallest smudge will cause it to skip. I would honestly pass on this.

We ordered two of these for Christmas for our girls at the same time, and one of them never worked from day one. We were told we could not return it? Would love to at least get our money back.

Didn't work on my 2019 MacBook Pro. The laptop didn't recognize it and it eat a dvd that I could not retrieve
