Philip Guston Now

Guston a giant, and this a fitting tome.
Beautiful production. Exceptional printing, excellent selection, really potent essays. Guston looked at the racist destructive absurd sewer of thought he as born into and did not look away. I am that. This is mad. We must all do better. I recommend this catalogue to any appreciator of Phillip Guston. Masterpiece.

Excellent book about Guston.
Excellent book about Guston, with good illustrations and much insight into his life and career. Worth adding to your collection of books on Guston, has a slightly different take on some things compared to the latest book by Storr. Both excellent.

Provocative and important
This is an important book to order because of how the recent controversy (and censorship) has delayed the exhibit.

Absolutely mind-blowing
I was only a little familiar with Guston's art, so this catalog was a complete eye-opener (and mind-opener) for me. The coverage of his work and life is exemplary. The additional short essays are, for the most part, interesting and useful. The plates and figures are as good as such illustrations can be, which is very good indeed. I'm hoping that the National Gallery exhibit will still be up when the museum is able to reopen. But in the meantime, this catalog is a stand-out in every possible way.

A must have by a great American artist
I’ve actually cut back on my prodigious art and photo book purchases due to storage limitations and potential moving costs. Nevertheless, I purchased this immediately. It’s a fantastic book of one of the greatest American artists. The images are beautiful and overall it’s a must have book. The recent controversy makes it even more essential. As you know often once books like this are initially published eventually they go out of print. Buy it now, if you don’t you may regret not doing so in a few years.
