desertcart.com: Batman: The Rise and Fall of the Batmen Omnibus: 9781779506658: Tynion IV, James: Books Review: A FANTASTIC run - I was so stoked to find this run by James Tynion IV had been collected into a single omnibus. It was so stellar! It focuses on Batman as the leader of a group, though we quickly see this group doesn't need him as much as some might think. The portrayals of Tim Drake and Kate Kane's Batwoman were fantastic. Though the New52's Batwoman was also great, it faltered a bit at the end--this series puts her right back on top as a hard military realist, as she should be. This series also ties in directly with the Rebirth Batwoman series rather effortlessly, which I adored. Tim Drake just hasn't gotten the love he deserves in recent years, but this story does him justice! I loved that this series calls back to past DC stories without needing to have read them and I loved that Azrael also became a part of the group a little later in. Though he doesn't get much "screen time" as I might have liked, this series approaches Azrael's religious component with much more realism than his solo series from the 90's ever did. Not to mention Cass is back and learning to speak through studying Shakespeare with Clayface! How adorable is that?! Stephanie Brown is sassy and rebellious without being annoying, something not everyone can write. It could be hard to say which character shines best in this series but I think it's definitely Tim and Kate. Review: Nonstop Action - You Will Never Put The Book Down!!

Great story
Awesome book. The story is really great but it seems like more of a 'batwoman' omnibus in my opinion. The entire book is really a Batwoman/Tim Drake story with other people peppered in. I thought the book would be much more woke than it actually was. Any time there seemed to be some woke aspect it seemed to be more of a joke than a distraction. In the entire omnibus, I can count the woke moments on one hand. They did not distract from the story like in other books. Batwoman has daddy issues but none of that ever really gets hammered out and one of my only gripes is that the ending of the book ends with her in almost the exact spot she started. Orphan was one of the best parts of the book and her character is awesome. Clayface was a present surprise. Their whole dynamic was cool and wish there was more. In terms of book quality, the pages seemed a bit wavy at first (probably due to humidity) but have strengthened out over time.

Detective Comics Rebirth por Tynion IV fue más consistente que Batman de King. Muy entretenida y con excelentes dibujos.

Worth it
$78 for this is a steal. Great stories and I'm not even halfway through it.

Some parts do slow a bit, but it is a truly incredible story, and overall very well-paced. I stayed invested the whole way through it. If you’re a Red Robin or Batwoman fan, this is a must-buy!

As a omnibus about the batman family? It's a masterpiece. Batman is in it, but mostly as a secondary character. I think this book is labelled wrong. It should be called the "detective comics by tynion" omnibus. It focuses on spoiler, batwoman, red robin, orphan, and clay face. There are others, but these are the main stars of the book. This is def worth the read. Best family story out there, in my opinion. BUT..... As for batman himself? He was badly portrayed in this book. I had a huge problem with this throughout the story. Batman was turned into a wimp. He gets captured and outclassed and outsmarted by almost everyone. One fight in particular just pissed me off. It wasnt even a fight. He just got taken out and mocked like a chump. I am pretty sure tynion did this so the team could be important. But come on, there must have been better ways to make the team matter than to make batman so weak. I was actually torn about rating this book. Because as a batman story? I did not like it, and batman was written horribly. This is just not what batman is, in my opinion. But at the end of the day, it's a story about the bat family. And judging by that? It's an epic and amazing story. You will actually care about clayface!!!!! Everyone has an amazing arc and the character development for each is awesome. EXCEPT for batman himself. Seriously tynion. WHY?????? LOL. THE batman parts really bother me. Can you tell?
