This is one bad ass stone. It's at least 3 k and with the slurry I'd give it at least an if you work the slurry right.v Best stone in that grit I've ever seen

This is a soaking stone, but it does not take too long to have the necessary moisture. It cuts very well and gives good feedback. Great kazumi finish.I would give it 4 or 5 stars if not for the issue that it came cracked from very poor packaging. Shame on the seller.

Hardly any buildup with this stone. The feel of this stone is smooth and soft. When you're done with your #1000 stone or whatever lower grit stone you use, this #3000 stone will get your knives even sharper.As for Packaging:I was nervous due to people saying it could be packaged better. I can say I agree, but the way it's packaged is just enough to survive delivery.Here's how it's packaged. Suehiro bubble wraps the stone within the main box. Then, whoever this Amazon seller is, bubble wraps the outside. The problem is the seller only wraps the outside of the Suehiro box once. I would like as a customer for it to at least have a couple of layers of bubble wrap. Also, it didn't come in an amazon box, instead it came in an envelope, which makes it even more risky to survive delivery without having a chip or broken piece.I bought the Suehiro Cerax #1000 on Amazon and whoever the seller is for that stone wrapped it several times with bubble wrap, making it really hard for the stone to ever get chipped in the warehouse or through delivery. Also, it came in an Amazon box.Other than that, it came undamaged for me. Happy with the stone itself, and I feel like it's a must have stone for sharpening.

OK, I received the stone in very quick time , BUT the packaging was CRAP . I was glad to see it had not been broken in transit . Amazon shipped a book, I purchase in a better container then this was shipped in. What's up with that Amazon ? If I had to send it back that would be crazy since I am in Brazil .Anyway , I have tested the stone 2 times so far . Both times I got very nice results .the second was a full rework of a Stainless Steel knife (Henkel's) . Compared to the Naniwa SS 3000 , this stone is the clearly better stone. It does not polish as much as the "N" ,but it comes close . What it does do ,is leave a better sharp edge . I have higher grit stones for polishing .If you do not like "N" stones ( I have had nothing but problems with them ) Try Suehiro . I think you will be very happy with Suehiro stones. Soon I will buy another Suehiro 600 grit Splash and go .After using this 3000 git stone , I stropped the knife and it is razor sharp .this stone did not load up and was easy to clean any small amount left on the stone . Cutting was easy and fast . Buy it ,if your looking for a 3000 grit stone .

It is my favorite stone to use out of my current 26 stones, I sharpen mostly tools (planes irons, chisel ext.) and occasionally knives as a business. By far my favorite to use, maybe not as convenient as others but do I get a kick out of using it, it creates a nice swarf, nice creamy feel, great feedback and cuts fast, a little soft but a pleasure to use.If you know how to sharpen you’ll love this stone!!

Shipping was solid, no cracks, no deformations. It comes with nagura stone.Stone is very aggressive, very bossy. Also feels good. I would say that, it's better than king 1000grit. I sharpened my old pocket knife with this and result is impressive.You can have without any doubt..
