The catheter needles are great quality! I used the 16g catheter needle to pierce my other tragus myself at home after I got my other tragus pierced by a piercer. The flexible catheter makes it easy to insert a 16g threadless flat back in the back of the new piercing once the needle has been removed. I did use a curved insertion tool taper in the back end plus the threadless flat back post at the end to get the jewelry in place easily. You should be able to fit the flat back on the end without the taper, just be sure to cut off about half an inch of the tip first. I'm planning on piercing a flat next.

Yes, they are sharp pointy, sterile needles. Pokes holes in you real well. Feels like I'm reviewing for the iron maiden circa medieval times...."holes in subject, works great, Elizabeth Bathory proud".....so yeh...

I got these 14 gauge catheters to assist me in a piercing a belly button. I tried it with a regular needle and I could not get the jewelry to go through. Because the clamps once released the jewelry would not follow the needle through. So I got this one with the catheter so I could pierce the belly button and then let the catheter stay in and then hook the jewelry in the back end of it and pull it through. It worked very well it is easy to pierce with and then cut off the catheter and then put the jewelry in the end of 14 gauge bellybutton ring will fit in the end of this catheter easily so if this is what you’re looking for for it works great.

These are sterile and sharp making piercing painless. Great Price for six pieces. I used them to pierce my granddaughter's ears over Thanksgiving. Sure beats just a needle!
