Waka — Culinary Grade Matcha Tea Powder — Japanese — 3.5 oz Bulk Bag

I was a bit Leary of this tea since several reviews said it didn’t really dissolve well. I put it in some warm water and it dissolved great. It is bright green as it should be. I will buy this again.

Just as another reviewer stated on here, there are two grades of matcha - "culinary", and "ceremonial". "Culinary" is 'low-quality' and is used for flavoring, or for making smoothies/lattes, and "Cerimonial" is high quality meant for drinking as a tea. This is definitely the former, as I've had Ceremonial grade many times before to know the difference.The picture is misleading as it shows a whisk and a cup of tea, but this grade isn't meant for that. I'm not saying that it can't be used to drink purely as a tea, but it's just not ideal. The flavor as a tea is fine, but does clump quite a bit.

Delicious matcha powder that doesn’t cost a fortune. Love the ease of use and the flavor. Easily dissolves in iced matcha lattes and in my morning shakes. 5/5!

Adds green tea kick, which is not jittery like the kick from coffee. Matcha flavor, however, is almost totally lacking. Matcha Wellness brand, which cost more, also has more flavor. I will return to that brand next time (for drinking!)Update: I was too quick to criticize. When used as culinary additive, which is its purpose, it works great on slow-churned vanilla ice cream. Haven't tried it in any other foodie way. Worth the price used right.

I tried out this matcha powder after getting hooked on Waka Instant coffee. The matcha does not disappoint!

I took one star because the powder will not dissolve in hot water and leave the chunk on the bottom.Other than that, the taste is excellent and easy to make.You even can use cold water. The taste of green tea would be milder than making it with the hot water.
