It is a useful size and pretty. It does have some areas that can snag the yarn. I had to carefully sand then down but when you do that the shine is, of course, removed. I just use this piece to hold smaller left over balls of yarn in. I don't use I to actively run yarn through it.

Beautiful but small & I had to use my dremmel to smooth out the cuts/swirl for the yarn as it kept snagging

At first look, this bowl is beautiful. However, when it comes to use it is horrible and unfortunately I really needed it to keep the cats off my yarn.When I say it is horrible in the ability to be used I am referring to the area of the bowl where the yarn should slide through smoothly. I had a scrap of yarn that I tested it with before trying to use it with yarn I'm using for a project. Each time I tried passing the yarn through either a hole or through the swirl area it snagged.Since I was really in need of the bowl I pulled out my handy Dremel tool and started sanding away at all of the burrs. It was necessary on both holes and the ENTIRE swirl area. The snagging was absolutely horrible and the sanding took a significant amount of time to get rid of the burrs and rough spots and allow yarn to pass through smoothly.The amount of time it took to smooth the surfaces more than doubled the cost of the bowl. As the saying goes... You get what you pay for!

Arrived fast. Nice looking. Decent size. Only complaint was I had to take fine grit sand paper to the entire grove of where the yard feeds out. It was rough and pitted and wouldve snagged any yarn going through it. Other than that Im happy with it.

Wonderful product overall. The swirl where the yarn goes was rough. Sand paper fixed that tho.

Bought this bowl for myself. Only complaint is that it doesn’t work well with the classic crochet thread spools. You really need to roll everything into balls.

Pretty, but they really need to invest some time sanding the cutouts. I mean really, they need to sand it. It's meant for yarn, it should be smooth.

This box is very well finished and the "curlicue" through which the yarn runs is sanded and varnished well enough to keep the yarn from sticking. The balance of the box is VERY well finished. I would highly recommend this item to anyone who needs to control their yarn while crocheting.
