Best Doggie Pen Ever!
This pen exceeded my expectations. It is priced so reasonably, and is very well made. It was easy to assemble, needed a small phillips screwdriver for the hinges and latches on the door. The holes were drilled just right so it went together very quickly. All needed hardware was included.I have a toy poodle, 6 lbs, who is indoors most of the time. She runs free in the house during the daytime, and sleeps in this pen all night. My hubby is 90 years old and not too steady on his feet, so when I leave to run errands, I put her in her pen so she won't "trip" him and cause him to fall while I'm gone. We also have small grandchildren who visit. My doggie is very sweet and good with kids, but sometimes she needs a "time-out" from all the attention while they are here, and loves the security of her little pen and her bed.My little dog is not a climber or a jumper, and the pen contains her perfectly well. This pen replaces a metal wire pen that was getting corroded andrusty along the bottom from splashes from her water bowl. The plastic will clean up nicely I think. The gate is a nice feature, but I usually just lean over and put her in and out. I'm fairly tall, 5'7", and the height of the sides allows me to do this easily. A shorter person might find it more convenient to use the gate, which works well and is easy to latch and unlatch.

Best Pet Playpen I've ever had!
On August 13th, my dog Annie had to have surgery to repair a torn ACL. The doctor told me that she needed to be kept in a crate for at least the first 2 weeks. Annie has never been in a crate and I knew she would not do well and would get very upset being in an enclosed crate. After a lot of research, I found the Iris Pet Playpen on Amazon and I ordered it after I dropped her at the hospital. I can't tell you what a Godsend this playpen has been for us. During the day, I put it in my office and I put her bed into the Playpen so that Annie can be with me while I work (I work from home fortunately). Then, at night, I take it into my bedroom, which is where she sleeps. Since the Playpen is very open and has no top, Annie doesn't feel caged in and does not complain at all when she's in the Playpen. It was super easy to put together and it has a door that she can use to get in and out of the Playpen, which is a big help rather than having to lift her out from the top. Also, the door has two latches so there is no way she can open it from the inside. Despite the fact that it is quite sturdy when it's set down, once you lift it in the air, you can close it in half and transport it from room to room very easily. This was one of the best products I've ever ordered and I can't say enough good things about. It is very well made and has a lot of attention to detail Thank you Iris!!! You've made everything a little easier for my Annie - and for me!!Highly, highly recommend this Playpen to anyone who loves their pet!

Workable
We adopted a mini-dachshund puppy at 8 weeks and needed a pen for her to be comfortable and safe in while we were at work and the kids were at school. For the pros, the crate provides a perfect amount of space for her potty pad (small Iris potty pad holder), water dish, bedding, and toys. The plastic is thick and sturdy, and the spacing of the bars is not so far apart we worried about her getting stuck between the bars somehow. We have both the click/snap style and pole assembly style. Both are very easy to put together and remove. I prefer the pole assembly style so if there’s a mess, you can just slide out two poles, remove the front panel, then climb in to wipe everything out (the shape collapses a bit), then quickly put everything back together. I appreciate that the latches for the door can be tightened for extra “escape” proofing. We followed suggestions for the X support and had no issues with collapse. We also purchased a corrugated plastic sheet (“Coroplast”) from Lowe’s about $20 for 4’ by 8’ sheet (we have another Iris upstairs in our bedroom) and made a low-sided tray for the bottom (search on-line for making Guinea pig cages from Coroplast and you will see how to work with the material—it is easy with a utility knife, metal ruler, and waterproof tape). The only con, which has to do with our puppy and not the product (hence 5 stars) is that our 5.5 lbs mini-Doxie who stands not even 8” high learned to scale the sides and climb out at 13 weeks old. I would not have believed it possible. I don’t have a picture of her escaping on the puppy cam, only her climbing. She is white so it is hard to see but she has all paws on the sides and her nose through the top. She escaped twice in the space of a few hours and so we implemented the second great idea from the reviews (lattice fence from Lowe’s). No more escaping.I would buy this product again. I’m not sure how much longer we’ll use it, since we’ll move on to crate training as soon as she is old enough, but this has been extremely useful to us in this stage. Also, this pen looks great and isn’t an eyesore in your living room. Our puppy doesn’t mind going in it.Hope this helps some folks.Update: Not even 16 weeks, and the puppy has perfected her climbing skills ... found she was poking her head from the top through the lattice and quickly realized this could be a really bad situation if she got stuck. So ... I zip tied wire grids (a la wire grid storage cube panels) under the lattice, then zip tied everything down. This seems to have solved our problem with our Houdini puppy... for now. The pen itself is still very workable for us.
