Blackthorn's Botanical Brews: Herbal Potions, Magical Teas, and Spirited Libations

I soooo wanted to love this book!!! I thought.it would be full of magickal potions and elixers and such. But its just a book of cocktails and "mocktails" (non alcoholic drinks that are made fancy, like an alcoholic drink)...thats about it. The book is soooo pretty!! I just got a new cauldron and I thought there would be some recipes that included one but there wasn't. I was a bit bummed. And I feel like it doesn't even really focus on MAGICKAL drinks. The focus is more on just recipes of drinks - like any other recipe book... Yes, it has a few correspondences, but not enough for me to keep it. Very underwhelmed. It's too bad because the cover is sooo cool!! And so is the inside of the book. Itadee want to keep it! But i didn't. Because I dont even drink.. Lol... "Botanical Brews" reminds me of herbal teas, elixers, potions you may make in a cauldron -- NOT alcoholic drink recipies. Its too bad cuz I really love the whole idea of it...it just didn't hit the mark in my opinion, or it didn't live up to up to my PERSONAL expectations. Too bad...

Truly I cannot sing this books praises enough. Rarely is there a book that can be incorporated into daily life, and this is one. Certain to become a dogeared old friend littering your kitchen counter, there’s no reason to resist this purchase.

I would highly reccomend this to everyone, witch or not. The recipes are amazing. Full of useful information I haven't read in other books of similar nature.

Bought this book as a gift for a witchy friend of mine who loves to make homemade elixirs and cocktails and she squealed when she got it and immediately looked through the entire thing and bought one for her friend!I also own Amy’s other 2 books and find them all to be interesting, easy to read, and well informed, especially for beginners. Those couple of negative reviews can get bent, these are all great books. I do hope her next book features some of her photography in the book, she’s pretty amazing with a camera.

So while I enjoy it, there are way more information regarding alcohols then anything and in detail.I was hoping for a lot more teas then there are since I don't drink.Granted still giving this 5 stars due to the fact that my husband drinks so it's good for him AND they do give quite a few non-alcoholic substitutes although I have yet to try any to see how they come out.

Beautiful book, and well written. Love that sober substitutions were included. Love all the syrups. Can’t wait to make flavored sodas.

I stumbled across this book in one of my many searches on Amazon. I received it today and already have so many things I want to do. Definitely worth getting
