Vallejo - Liquid Metal | Old Gold 35 ml. (1.18 fl.oz.)

Bought this because I wanted a nice gold color for my minis, it shakes up fairly easily and spreads very well. I will warn you, dip and clean your brush frequently when using this, because it dries very quickly, but while I did put some wear and tear on a few cheap brushes with this paint, it looked great on there, both as a small accent color, and when used for some larger details as well. I'm planning on picking up more colors in the liquid metal line soon. But as the title says, please use this in a room with some good air flow.

This paint is the best silver paint I have found. It had great flow, covers very well and leaves no brush marks. This paint is alcohol based and you will need to use alcohol to clean your brush. The extra trouble of using alcohol is totally worth it. I recommend this paint to any mini painter who wants to paint true metallic. FANTASTIC!

This stuff is wild. The coverage is unprecedented, one layer and it's totally opaque, which is really cool to see and suprising at first given how thin it is. It also kind of sparkles, it looks really neat when it dries, almost like soda fizzing. It's the best metal paint I've used, though I will say I have never used "high end" metal paints like Scale 75. You get a lot for your money here, these are quite a bit larger than regular paint bottles. There are some downsides that seem to come from the medium used, which I think is mostly alcohol. It smells bad. It requires more work to clean your brushes since you need to use alcohol for that as well. And it is a little more difficult to paint over top of than normal paint. I also dont like it not coming in droppers like normal vellejo, rather they are jars. The idea of spilling one of these is enough to give me nightmares. I dont know of it's the nature of the product that would make it not work properly in a dropper bottle or what, but it felt worth mentioning. All told, those complaints are minor and this stuff is phenomenal, just not perfect.

I liked that it compliments crafts without being too bright! Very nice silver. Goes on smoothly. Better than anything else I have found in many yrs!

It doesn't have the luster I was hoping for. It feels rather dull to me. The image provided is honestly excessively flattering, my phone camera seems to have automatically upped the saturation and contrast a fair bit. Also bear in mind that's painted onto actual metal. I could see it being quite good for miniatures. But not much else. Over surfaces larger than a few tiny accent dabs, it's very clearly just gold paint. I feel gold spray paint gives a more realistic metal finish than this. Maybe when applied with an air-bush it's much better, but I don't own one and it's far outside the budget of the project I got this paint for to get one. I'm not sure if this is an all model paint type of issue or just Vallejo, but this stuff needs to be shaken up pretty much every single time you dip your brush into it or the pigment settles on the bottom and you end up just painting with clear medium just slightly clouded with gold dust. And this isn't unique to their metallic pigments but also the black I got from them too. If you're just doing some gold accents on miniatures I think this stuff is probably pretty good. But if you wanna make something a little more substantial like a piece of a model or jewelry actually look like gold, this aint it.

Lo he comprado para pintar algunos adornos que tenía por casa algo estropeados y el efecto plata vieja está muy conseguido. Me encanta que no huele apenas y seca muy rápido. Los productos Vallejo suelen ser estupendos para manualidades.

Just had the opportunity to open this box as it arrived late. The alcohol ink bottle was damaged and it leaked. Half of the bottle arrived empty
