I liked that it had dual outputs and low energy useage. I wasn’t sure if it would be quiet, but I impressed and can not tell it is on even when standing next to it. The set up is the only thing I did not like about it. First there were not instructions to understand where the red check valves went (they prevent want going into the unit which is necessary) and really how to set up with the connections. They provide a single 80 inch tube for you to cut and figure out on your own and is not easy to put them on. The tube was not long enough to do the set up I wanted and will eventually need to get new ones as the electrical cord is also short to move this far away from my tank. You are also forced to use both air outputs as you cant turn on or another off. That said when you get this set up it works really well and so quiet. It does have a knob to adjust the power as needed. On the bottom are rubber feet to keep it in place. I still recommend this for the price and quality, but would recommend buying a separate tube for ease of custom install first.

The media could not be loaded. Rcvd and installed it tonight. I have a 5 gallon tank that did not seem to have enough oxygen in it. Read the reviews and decided to purchase as it came complete with everything needed to get started. Very quiet. Love the fact that I can adjust the bubbles. I am going to get a T so I can just use one air stone. There is A LOT of movement now since the tank is small, so I think 1 air stone will be better. The fish seem to be kinda leery of it right now but we shall see. They are hiding in the corner behind the "plant". The hose is flimsy but had no kinks or issues. Also no instructions on how to install the check valve. I haven't had a fish tank in over 30 years. So there is definitely a learning curve for me. Luckily someone answered how to do it in the question section of Amazon. Very pleased with my purchase and highly recommend it.

The air pump works well, but is a little louder than I had hoped. I placed the unit on a small washcloth and that helped a little. I love that it comes with everything you need to set it up, and assembly was super easy. I wish that there was a lower setting. I have it in a 5 gallon betta tank, and the strength of the air flow causes a bit of splashing out the top of the tank (it's a Fluval Spec V, so there is a long rectangular hole in the middle of the lid, under the light). I got the air pump because I was having trouble with biofilm, and so far the biofilm issue seems resolved!To summarize: Probably better suited for a tank larger than 5 gallons. Works well, but a little loud.

Its my first time setting up an aquarium, and I needed a filter. I found this airpump (hooked it up to a sponge filter) and honestly? Its pretty great. The pump itself is very quiet, and barely gets louder as you turn the knob to increase the airflow. The only complaint I have is that the company didn't include instructions on how to install the anti-backflow pipe properly so I had to look it up. (Cut the air tube 2-3 inches from the pump and hook it up with the anti-backflow piece facing away from the pump. Theres a subtle arrow on it.) Other than that, works as advertised! If you've never had an air pump or a filter, the noise takes some getting used to. But as of right now, its only been 3 days and I barely notice it anymore. The sound of the bubbles is more noticeable than the pump.

The media could not be loaded. It works really well. Just remember to place the pump above the water line. In the video we may hear the trickle of water and a mild hum. We also have a second Fluval filter that may add to the noise. I use it for our axolotl and it has helped tremendously at keeping the water clear. Prior to introducing this pump I had to change the water every 3-4 months. It’s been 5 months and the water is clear. I do rinse the sponge on my Fluval frequently as well. If didn’t have the other filter I would have purchased the pump with the double system of this pump. Make sure you buy the hose. The pump has connections for two tubes.

This is only quiet on the lowest setting. I don't like how big the jumps in air pressure are between settings. There are only four settings for air pressure and the difference between the first and second (which I have been using) is massive and I very much want something in between them. If you leave the dial in between two settings (the settings aren't marked so it isn't hard to do tbh) it will switch between the two settings sporadically, which is just... kind of weird looking I guess. Besides that, nothing is wrong with the air pump. Its a regular, run of the mill air pump. I have another one that costs about the same amount from another brand and they all seem basically the same to me. Maybe the extremely expensive ones are better, but I am not unhappy with this enough for the cost to seem remotely worth it. It is cheap and it runs my sponge filters so that's good enough for me.Update: If you are only using one air outlet, sealing the other will tape makes the whole pump MUCH quieter. Also I have had to switch to using the third power setting to get the proper amount of air pressure for a 1ft deep 10 gal betta tank... so this pump probably would be crap for like a 20gal tall/29gal or anything larger. I bought another cheap pump from the Aquarium Co-op site that's rated for up to 50gal and am using it for my 20 long. That pump gives appropriate pressure for the configuration when left at lowest setting and is quieter than this Rifny pump configured for my 10gal. Both those tanks have about the same depth. The pumps also cost pretty much the same amount, but the one from Aquarium Co-op doesn't come with airline tubing, check valves, or air stones (though I don't use the air stones in this pack because they are minimum quality for functionality. I also use the 'never clog' air stones from Aquarium Co-op which make super fine bubbles).
