The Sausage Maker - Bratwurst Seasoning, 1 lb. 4 oz.

The directions are not clear on how much to add, the amount given is by weight not volume. It works out to .45oz per pound of meat, and I just mix with a little milk or water and then disperse into the meat thoroughly. Very salty so don't overdo it. If you want spicy you can add cayenne, sriracha, or whatever seasoning you prefer. I've made brat burgers too, very tasty. I have not tried this with beef, only pork.

Just what I was looking for. Made some great Elk brats.

I have tried many bratwurst blends in the past, I make lots of sausage. I have tried many recipes without much success in finding an authentic tasting bratwurst. This one NAILS IT. I would like to see smaller versions of this available, as its a lot of spice even for someone like me that makes sausage regularly. Also, buyer beware, this blend calls for milk solids/soy protein in order to make the sausage. I did not have either on hand when i made my last batch,and simply substituted fresh milk for the water in the recipe, and ground twice through a fine plate to achieve the smooth bratwurst consistency I was looking for, and they did not shrink and wrinkle after cooking. If you are buying this, I would also get the other required ingredients as well.

This is a great all-purpose brat seasoning. I've used a number of different blends before, none of them provided the authentic brat flavor I was looking for. This does call for Milk, Eggs, and Soy Protein to be used when making the brats. I did not have the Soy, and my product still turned out GREAT. I have used this on pork and chicken brats. Will definitely buy again, rave reviews from friends and family on this.

If you like salt and pepper and are too lazy to mix them together and have extra money to throw away this is the product for you! Seriously, It smells and tastes like salt and pepper.
