This is what "Poor rating" reviewers don't understand!
Very happy with this purchase โ economical and suits my use. The review asked for a rating of "sheerness", which is common to define in 2 ways โ in consideration of translucency and in a materials thickness and related ability to conform to shaping. As far as translucency, when opened, and held to a light, this bag will appear to be "gray" with about 10%-20% translucency, but when used as a bag it will appear black and, unless what it is carrying produces a single layer, un-wrinkled contact surface with the plastic, and presents a high contrast scenario (read black text on white background), there is little chance of an outsider knowing what's inside of the bag. Sheerness in terms of the bag's shape conforming to the object inside is very high, as this bag is thin โ and this is where people have given it a poor review โ IMPORTANT TO NOTE: not all plastic bags are created equal! Each poor review I read complained of the same problem, but it's not the bag, it's the buyer. When it comes to plastic bags there are 2 types of plastic used, HDE and LDE (high density/low density). High density plastic is the type that, if it is pierced, will quickly and easily split up the entire side or in a long slice, where low density plastic is the type that can handle sharper edge objects and "stretch" a great deal before rupturing or puncturing the structure. To that end, LOW DENSITY bags are generally used for garbage/waste so they do not explode and spill while you are carrying them out. Additionally, low density bags are usually measured in "mil" instead of "mic". Without greater product specifics in the description it is safe to reason that this product's measurement in "MIC", and its stated related purpose for "T-shirts" (soft goods), makes it a high density plastic bag (the kind that easily breaks under duress) which should be taken into consideration when purchasing this item in relation to your intended use. Okay, there is your "not ENTIRELY useless fact" for the day, good jobโฆ Rest now.

GREAT Bags
I often buy t shirt bags and by far this is the sturdiest (it is 2ml thicker than most others) and the price is a great value. This bag so far is the best and I hope they never stop making them.

STURDY BAG.
Used for filling with fruits or vegetables and given out at our Food Bank Ministry. These are strong enough that we no longer need to double bag them.

Probably Won't Buy Again.
The general reviews for these bags gave me high hopes, but aren't as durable as I expected. The plastic feels somewhat dried out and crinkly, and I end up having to double bag most everything to make sure they don't rip from merchandise being placed inside. The upper pull tabs don't work too well on my bagging stand; when you pull one bag off, the second doesn't pop into place ready for the next purchase because they are over perforated and tear easily. As well, the handles seem to be glued from the heat cutting process making me grab two or three extra bags when I only need one. Overall, they are OK and get the job done, but cause a headache in the process.
