DP to DVI Adapter

Have a computer that pretty much only supports DisplayPort, but your somewhat older monitors only have HDMI and DVI? I do. And so do a bunch of people at the office I support as an IT guy. These adapters have worked perfectly well in all cases tried, with any combination of onboard/integrated graphics, dedicated GPU. Note that these are NOT omnidirectional, meaning the only direction you can send the signal is: DP -> DVI -> Monitor (you CANNOT go from DVI to DP) Note that these are DVI-I, meaning they will support both digital and analog DVI monitors without issue. I can also confirm that these (unofficially) support resolutions above 1080p, as my monitors are 1920x1200, and have worked perfectly with these adapters, with zero issues. For their purpose, they work perfectly well, and after buying probably more than 50 sets of these over the past few years, we've only had one or two end up going bad. So reliability is solid as well. I highly recommend these over other brands for this particular adapter.

This adapter has screw holes to secure the dvi cable, which is nice. Not all adapters do. I plugged in the dvi cable, gently tightened the screws, then plugged in the displayport end to my computer. Good satisfyingly firm lock on the displayport connector, and everything looked great. Booted up the system and everything was perfect from first boot, including post screen, bios screens, windows, etc. All came out perfect. This is an i5 dell desktop system with windows 8. I will say that the release on the display port end is a tight squeeze and it locks in pretty solid, so if you need to connect and disconnect often, this might need some softening up, but for my purposes this is perfect.

Bought these to support multiple monitors from my graphics card. They work as expected and have had no issues through multiple years of use.

I bought this to extend the display of my Dell Precision 4800 (with dock) to a 3rd display. The build is solid, the connections fit well, and it worked as expected. I was not able to use it for my intended purpose though because I realized late that I needed an "active" DP-to-DVI adapter to extend to a 3rd display and this model is a "Passive" adapter. I still rate it as 5 stars and I use it for when I need to display my screen to a projector. Perfect! Works great. I have two monitors on my desk. I also have a work laptop and a personal desktop. I wanted to be able to take the cable that was going to my work laptop and plug it into my PC when I wasn't working so I had 2 monitors. I could already use both monitors on the laptop because it has 2 DVI ports, but my PC has a graphics card with 1 DVI and 2 display ports. Problem solved!

I received a new work laptop which had a new docking station with new video ports. I use two monitors and work from home 2 days a week so needed to get new video connectors to fit the new ports on the new docking station at home. These worked perfectly! Plugged in and booted up with no issues. Connectors are well made and connect very securely. Highly recommend.

UPDATE 5/7/2016: Company contacted and replaced cable as a result of my first review. Replacement provided by company works and seems to be holding up. Kudos to them for being quick on replacing the cable. I'm using it in a KVM setting--the original geometry was putting a static bend in the cable when in use due to the combined DVI/USB KVM cable. I've purchased a short USB extension cable to keep the bendiness down. I'm still not sold on it being that rugged--strain relief at the DVI end seems like it could be better, and I still don't think the use case should have killed the cable--but it isn't terribly expensive, either. Here is that short USB extension, in case the reader is interested: MXtechnic 1 Meter USB 2.0 Male to Female Spring Coiled Extention Coil Cable Adapter Connector ORIGINAL REVIEW: Mine is getting conductor breaks after a handful of uses. Now I have to wiggle it to get it to work correctly, and soon it will be dead and I will be looking for a new one. This is in a static setting, no nasty bending, jerking or anything. Used about five times. I either got a lemon, or they are designed to last just long enough to get through the return period. Sad.

An older DisplyPort to DVI adapter I had been using unexpectedly quit working. I ordered this one as a replacement, plugged it in and BINGO, my system was back up and running without any issues as I had hoped. They cable adapter seems to be of good quality and it certainly is performing as I expected.

Does exactly what it promised

Der Adapter tut genau das, was ich von ihm erwarte. Er stellt ein sauberes und störungsfreies Signal am Monitor da. Ich habe dieses kurzfristig benötigt, da ich aktuell keine Dockingstation wie sonst nutze, sondern nur einen Leihmonitor zur Verfügung habe. Für dieses geht es wirklich zuverlässig. Haptik und Qualität lassen bei mir keine Wünsche offen.

Prodotto non all'altezzza della descrizione. Con il mio setup non sono riuscito a farlo funzionare con risoluzioni più alte di 1280x800, il mio monitor è capace di una risoluzione 2560x1600 e la scheda video è la nuova Intel HD530 (max res. 4096x2160) Se si vuole utilizzare una risoluzione più elevata del misero HD bisogna in ogni caso acquistare gli adattatori "attivi".

Cet adaptateur fonctionne très bien dans mon cas pour piloter des écrans DVI 19 pouces en résolution 1280 sur 1024.

到着までとても早く、すぐに使用することができました。 マルチディスプレイで使用したかったのですが、アナログポートしかなく困っていました。 ディスプレイ側にはDVI端子があり、HDMIを使ってできないか考えていたところ希望通りの商品が見つかり、とても安く入手することができました。 仕事で使用するため、大変助かっています。
