WIWAVWDH-16GT-DC 10/100/1000Mbps Unmanaged 16-Port Gigabit Industrial Ethernet Switches with DIN Rail/Wall-Mount (UL Listed, Fanless, -30°C~75°C)

I live in South Florida and some brilliant installer decided to terminate all my in home wiring into the garage. Needless to say with a home full of gamers and streamers we want reliable network service to each room. Problem was I knew no retail switch was going to work in the garage. Temps well over 100 with 90+ humidity I wanted to make sure I got a properly rated industrial style unit. All I had to do was attach a DIN rail near my panel and make myself some patch cables. One other requirement was purchasing a separate AC/DC Adapter to allow the unit to plug into an outlet as it is intended to be mounted in a cabinet that already has power runs. Has been working great for several months including over the summer and a recent cold snap.

After powering up and connecting devices, it auto-negotiated each port automatically sensing the link speed and network devices.As a plug-and-play device, after powering on the WIWAV WDH-16GT-DC 16-port switch, it does not need any user involvement, just connect network devices to it.There are many variables when it comes to Internet and network speed. Besides network port speed, a drive write (or read) speed and not enough RAM could affect throughput performance.If a SATA 3 hard drive is able to handle up to 750 Mbit/s write speed, then the network speed won't be able to go faster than data can be written to such drive.I tested file transfer using several devices connected to the WIWAV switch, all supporting 1 Gbps to 2.5 Gbps speed. To prevent any device from interfering with the speeds of the switch, I used devices with NVMe drives capable of 1800 MB/s (14400 Mbit/s) write speed.Since the WIWAV 16-port switch is pitched as industrial (business) network switch then it should handle multiple devices connected and handle high levels of traffic.The WIWAV WDH-16GT-DC 16-port switch showed excellent throughput, reaching 963 Mbit/s while transferring large files, with an average speed of 753.0 Mbit/s to five devices.The power usage stayed mostly at 6 watt, reaching 8 watt with 10 devices connected and six of them transferring data. That is as much power usage as one of my LED light bulbs. At idle it went down to 4 watt power usage.The WIWAV WDH-16GT-DC 16-port switch does not come with a power adapter. It requires a DC 12v~48v (1.5-3A) power adapter with a 5.5mm barrel.But that isn't all. Before connecting a DC power adapter, a small #2.0-2.5 flat screwdriver is needed to connect the included DC power pigtail plug to the switch terminal block.At this price range, this switch should come with a power adapter.There are many 16 to 24 ports network switches with the same features with a power adapter included and some even cost less.

Due to the location of the ethernet routed in my house, I needed a switch in my garage, but I was worried about the summer heat. This industrial level switch is rated for 167f, which is well above the upper limit of what a Las Vegas garage can hit.With the din rail mount, this is designed to be attached inside an enclosure, so that explains the heat resistance, but also why it doesn't come with a power supply. I used a Mean Well SDR 120, and it was way overkill for what this guy needed. I mostly went with that one because of the high efficiency rating, but also because of the heat resistance.I tested every port just to make sure there weren't any duds, and everything (including the LED's) fired up without issue. The speeds were just as high as I expected, and were all much higher than I'd likely be able to read from my hard drives in a real use case anyway.Overall a fantastic high quality switch.Highly recommended.

the room with my mining rigs is quite warm, all the time. i have the rigs themselves in an air conditioned space, but I needed a device that would hold up to 90 F temps, and be fast, and this definitely gets the job done.Note you can't just plug this into the wall. You're going to need a DC power supply to get it working, and it's intended to be rack mounted. This isn't a big challenge, but it's not a consumer grade device that you just plug and go.this is a solidly built device that will take not just the heat, but vibration and even a certain amount of impact, although I wouldn't beat on it with a stick or anything. It's intended for "industrial" use, so it's going to do the job for anything within reason. Ports automatically adjusted to a variety of devices at different speeds and connected right up without any issues at all, on all ports.

But you should be aware that this is designed for DIN-rail mounting with a 48v DC power supply. You can’t just plug it into an AC outlet. There are scenarios where this power method is preferred - just make sure that applies to you.

This unit does not come with a power transformer for a reason. It is not a desktop unit, it is made for extreme temperatures -- environments where your power adapter is going to fail. Since I needed to redo the pipes in my house anyway after the Texas freeze, I decided to rewire the house for ethernet instead of relying on wireless in a 4500 sq ft house. Looking at all the options, the best choice was to place this switch in the attic. I am not an electrician so I called one to run power. Now I have reliable power to the switch and run cat 6 cables to destinations in the house and down the wall. I have a computer room with other switches for high speed networking (10Gbe, 2.5Gbe) that have a firewall through which the rest of the house is connected through this industrial switch. For the rest of the house 1Gbe is good as the Internet connection is not 1Gbe.

Le caratteristiche parlano chiaro.Può’ essere montato a parete o su guida Din, resiste a temperature da -30 a +75°C ed ha moltissime certificazioni internazionali.- UL e cUL sono rispettivamente per USA e Canada e riguardano gli standard di sicurezza delle apparecchiature elettroniche inclusa la capacità di raffreddamento e relativa resistenza dei componenti.- CE ovviamente per gli standard europei- Per quanto riguarda gli standard per le emissioni elettromagnetiche c’è la certificazione FCC per gli USA e quella PSE per il Giappone- Per le “sostanze chimiche problematiche” sono presenti le certificazioni RoHS e REACH (SVHC).Direi che i presupposti per la qualità ci sono tutti.In ultimo il funzionamento.E’ molto versatile. Si può alimentare con tensioni dai 12 ai 48Vcc con un minimo di 1.5A. Tra l’altro l’alimentazione è “ridondante” ovvero ci sono due morsetti separati per due alimentatori indipendenti così che se se ne dovesse guastare uno, l’alimentazione è garantita dall'altro. In questo modello (non gestito) ci sono 16 porte fino a 1Gb/s e il funzionamento è impeccabile.Non costa pochissimo ma questo è un prodotto “heavy duty” che sulla carta dovrebbe durare una vita o più.

Quindi dispone di attacco posteriore per barra DIN, e di angolari metallici che ne permettono l’installazione a parete, a rack, o anche in appoggio, sia verticale che orizzontale.Qui sotto ti descrivo le caratteristiche del prodotto e le soprattutto la mia opinione e spero ti siano utili per l’acquisto!VANTAGGI:✅ Anche se poco ingombrante, ha ben 16 porte RJ45, che arrivano fino a 1000 Mbps.
