I've used Vanish carpet products for years on the wool carpets in my holiday cottage - the foam is good for general high traffic areas, but there've been some more difficult stains that have been a bit of a problem, more recently a rather anonymous splat which someone had wiped up and it had dried in - I'd no idea what it was, but the other spot cleaners hadn't touched it, so I got this Vanish Gold, more in hope than expectation. This product cleared it completely. Gone. Wouldn't have known anything had been splatted. So I gave this a go on another old carpet stain which had been around for a long time - I occasionally have another run at it and it's barely visible, but I know it's there, and it bugs me, so I gave it a go with this. Gone. I did give both stains a good dosing - not to soak the carpet entirely, but a generous application. Gently scrubbed it in and left it overnight - the instructions say 5 mins max but I got waylaid. Revisited it next morning and there was nothing there, and the carpet fibres hadn't suffered any colour loss or damage. This is also really effective on anonymous stains on the upholstery of sofas and chairs where I haven't got time to, or can't, remove the covers for washing on changeover. These are mostly hot drinks the guests have accidentally slopped on the sofa, or a dog has slobbered. Or something - but it gets rid of them, too and the upholstery is pristine again ready for the next assault. I've used this in my own house for the greasy tide mark left by my own GSDs when they've lain on the floor up against the sofa, or wiped their whiskers on the chair backs, thinking I won't know. I don't normally fuss about the grime my own dogs make in the house, but I'm a bit fussy about the cottage, and I'm well pleased with this. Good stuff. I've got some more of this ready for the next 'emergency.'

I use this spray regularly because I have an off white bath mat in the bathroom, & it gets very grubby, so a quick spray before it goes in the washing machine removes the stains.

Good stuff and a good price but I wished it sprayed rather than spotted. Transferred contents to a spray bottle which, in my opinion ,works better.

Great product, it removed a lot of stains from my sofa without leaving any halo. I recommend spraying a considerable amount on the stain, let it rest for 5 mins, remove the excess with a dry cloth and then clean with a wet cloth. Repeat 2 times if needed. Great results

Great cleaner. I'd recommend that everyone with pets/little kids get this. It cleans quick without fading the item and removes smell too. Yes, including cat pee smell and stain. Works great, good quality, easy to use, and worth the price. I use it every day.
