These stunning, beautifully crafted Peter Rabbit bone china miniature pieces by Wedgwood are based on the Peter Rabbit stores by Beatrix Potter. Each piece has illustrations and sometimes words from the books. The coffeepot shows Mrs. Rabbit dressed in her red cape and white apron, holding a white handkerchief in one hand and umbrella on one arm with a basket on the other, walking in the woods. Around the rim of the lid are these words: "Then old Mrs. Rabbit took a basket and her umbrella." The sugar bowl has on it a picture of Peter in his trademark blue coat running away from Mr. McGregor, as he is being chased in a field of lettuce with a red greenhouse in the background. On the rim of the lid appears this sentence: "Now run along and don't get into mischief". The creamer displays an image of two rabbits One is in bed hiding beneath the covers with only its ears and paws showing. The other is the mother bunny attending to her apparently sick charge. Here artistry and whimsy come together to delight the viewer!
