Manufacturer attempts to correct issue failed awaiting return authorization

The plastic wing nut came broken, so I had to make one out of aluminum on the lath. It was probably broken before it was packaged and shipped, being that no one looks at what they are shipping a customer anymore. Other than that the equipment works very well. It is a bit full of grease when you receive it, and it makes the adjustments rather difficult, but if you take the time to remove all that grease the item works very smoothly. All and all for the price you can't beat it. But the manufacturer can do a few improvements; making metal parts is far better than using plastic especially where you have a lock nut that will require a bit of force to tighten something down. Why use plastic?

There is a right and left pivot support flange which holds the knife sled on the grinder table. The left one had 1/16 vertical play, right had about 1/32 play. I couldn't keep the sled table stable during blade sharpening. I had some 1/32 sheet metal and cut two small shims for the left side and one for the right. I slid them into the table slots which stabilized the whole knife sliding table. The grinder now works as it should and does a good job putting a new edge on planer blades. I have done 15 knives so far and they are as good or better than new. The blade height, angle and stone adjustments are a little crude but with care you can make them work fine. I like this grinder now that I have it working correctly. I gave it 3 stars as Grizzly should have correctly machined the pivot support flanges or grinder table top correctly to start with.

Far above what I was expecting. I have sharpened some old blades that cuts like new.

I purchased this direct from Grizzly and was very disappointing. I have been a faithful Grizzly purchaser and am very fond of their products, until the purchase of THIS machine.There is NO fine adjustment of it and when you go to move the blade up and down it is very erratic and binds up when you try to adjust.When you do get it to move, the back is the only thing that moves, changing the angle of the blade. When you are trying to adjust in the thousands of an inch, this just DOES NOT fit the bill. I spent half of a day trying to get this POS to work and ended up ruining a set of 8" jointer knives.I will be sending this back immediately.

Very heavy and bulky as well as pricey. Does a good job not very pleased with the chinsey adjustments on the table itself but hey once you get it adjusted perfectly it works like a charm.
