I’ve got a snapper SR1028 riding mower with 28 inch deck, from the late 1990s.The original bag had acquired many holes which I’d been patching with gorilla tape.This bag seems to be a high quality near-oem replacement.The installation is simple, but extremely difficult. The tube from the old lawn tractor needs to be reused. I had to partially cut away the old one, then pry a screwdriver underneath the 3 inch collar keeping the tube together. This took about 45 minutes to figure out. It helped to hold the old tube and bag in vise. Then after stretching the collar a little with a screwdriver, I twisted it over and over while pulling to one side of the tube. This eventually allowed it to come off.It took some work to shimmy the old bag off the tube. It had shrunk and was a tight fit.Sliding on the new bag was much easier. Then it was a matter of gripping the collar with a leather glove and twist-sliding it back onto the other side of the tub.Overall this is an excellent bag and if i only have to replace it every 10 years, the difficult installation is a worthwhile trade off.

Great fit. Hardest part was separating the frame joint to be able to remove the old bag and install the new bag. I cut off the old bag to facilitate the process :)

I was skeptical that this grass bag would fit my Snapper riding mower because the size description in the write up was for the package. I posted the photo of the label above for a more accurate size description. Other reviews mention that it was difficult to get the old bag off. I looked on You Tube for some help. The frame is a single metal bar that is connected by a two inch collar. Pry the collar apart to free the two ends of the frame and work the fabric around to get it off. Then simply work the new bag onto the frame and replace the collar. It was really very easy.

My original Snapper lasted 15+ years. This Cleveland Canvas bag doesn't look as durable and material is not as thick and the holes in the mesh are larger.
