It's the perfect pen to keep in your car
Someone gave me one of these Fisher Space Pens as a gift and I like mine so much that I now give them out as gifts as well. I keep mine in my car. This is the perfect pen for that since the interior of the car can range from blazing hot in the summer to freezing cold in the winter. No other pen can survive that environment. It's not a problem for this Fisher Space Pen, it writes perfectly no matter how hot or cold. They say that this pen can even write under water. I haven't tested that and I hope I never will since I'm not a diver. This is a click action pen. Press the top cap of the pen once to open and press once again to close. It can feel a bit mushy compared to other click pens, but hey, it works. In any case, I've had mine for years, still the original ink cartridge, and the ink hasn't dried out. If I were ever to lose mine, I'd definitely buy another one.

Thee best pen
This is the smoothest writing pen I have ever used. It is a steal at $20.00

Finish will not last
This is a great pen that writes good, is comforatable to write with but the finish discolored within a week. I wanted this pen because it was gold but now the finish is dull and tarnished.

It's simply the best; it never fails to write.... ever.
I've had one of these for years; it went through the washing machine and still writes fine as ever. This new one's for a different vehicle.

Good Fisher quality in a solid EDC pen
I carry a Fisher Bullet in my pocket most of the time, I love the durability and convenience of it, but with my big gorilla-sized hands, it's not comfortable to write with the bullet for long periods of time. That's where this guy comes in. This pen has a nice matte finish, a robust, solid click and the ink lasts FOREVER. The only fault I can find with this pen (and my bullet too) is that the ink doesn't write very dark, it tends to be lighter. That's not a huge issue, but it is a bit annoying when compared to my Parker ballpoints, whose black ink is dark and prominent. Not sure why it seems to write so light, but as annoying as that is, it isn't enough to keep me from using this on a daily basis.

writes nice but..
writes very nicely. looks very attractive. However, the thin metal scratches quickly where the click cap slides on the body and most of all it just feels CHEAP. It's very light and the metal is thin and just gives a feeling and vibe of cheapness. Still 5 stars, because, space pen.

Better than a Russian pencil!
I wouldn't be without my Space Pen!In my day-job I do an AWFUL lot of handwriting. Quite often this is in less than desirable conditions - wind, rain, snow, etc. I work in and out doors in Fife, so I get all four seasons well and truly flung at me.This pen will write on wet paper, without tearing holes in it. It will write when the temperature is too low for normal pens. It will even write over greasy spots or marks on the page. The ink is a good solid colour, and the nip runs smoothly. The ink lasts a long time - about the same as any other 'quality' pen refill. However, every inch of that will be good solid writing, with no scribbling about trying to get it to work. You know it's empty when one day, all of a sudden, it just stops. There's no fading out or anything like that. This is good, as you get every last drop out of the barrel, but it means it's a good idea to have a spare to hand. The barrel of this pen is a good design too - it's solid, and well made. Six years after purchasing it, mine is still going strong. It has been with me in all weather conditions, and seems to be as reliable as the ink within it!I know there's the old joke about NASA using this, whereas the Russians used a pencil... however, in many situations a pencil is neither desirable nor allowed (the latter in my workplace), so this is useful, even here on terra firma.

Blobby
The natural brass finish is a subjective thing. I thought I'd like it, but with hindsight I wish I'd gone for a plated finish. The pen arrived very tarnished, which is to be expected with raw brass. A few seconds with a kitchen towel and some Brasso soon had it looking shiny, almost like gold. It's what I ordered, so not going to knock stars off for that. What I'm more disappointed with is that the pen often leaves a messy blob when starting to write, so I wouldn't trust it for anything I wanted to look nice, such as greetings cards or present tags. So 4 stars.

The first pen you reach for.
I've had a more "spacey" looking Fisher Space Pen before so this one doesn't stand out as something unique. Of course the pen is unique in that it will write anywhere, smoothly, uniformly and blotch free. The pen is glossy piano black and the ink in mine is also black, as expected.I seem to be constantly filling in forms and as forms can vary so much in paper quality, glossy finish, too soft etc then this is always the pen I reach for. The best recent example I can think of is having to sign the signature strip on a credit card. This pen worked first time and wrote evenly from start to finish, something the designers of credit cards seem to try and prevent you doing! The pen is a simple push down/push up mechanism, not twisting. There is a very subtle small engraving on the pen clip with the Fisher globe logo that actually looks like Saturn with its rings. In block capitals below that is the word "SPACE" running vertically down the pen clip. I have tried to capture this in a submitted photo of the pen.Once you've used these pens you'll probably appreciate their superiority over all other ball point pens. I think they'll make a great gift to any form filler you might know.

A great pen you can rely on
I love Fisher Space Pens. I switched to the Clip-O-Matic from the bullet type as I kept losing them Haven't lost one of these so the spare is still in the drawer. Worth noting that these pens are very slim, and some may not find them completely comfortable to hold. However, the Fisher ink and pressurised cartridge technology are as good as ever.
