A slightly larger Bigso box when you don't need a Super Bigso box!
Over the years I have been consolidating most of my classical collection of CDs in Bigso Kristina boxes, which I still turn to as my first choice due to their size and ease of transport on/off the shelf. Bigso does manufacture a "double size" box which I have used on occasion, but these simply become to heavy and bulky for comfortable carrying over to my audio gear. This Bigso Silvia box - while not the same style as the Kristinas - fills a nice middle niche.I recently was fortunate to acquire one of DG's Leonard Bernstein Complete Recordings box set. Like many of DGs recent sets, the storage configuration of the discs, the book and the double (!) box made for an impossible situation. I simply wanted ready access to the CDs and DVDs in the set - I'd store the book and box(es) elsewhere. That where the Bigso Silvia came in. Voila! Complete Recording set sits comfortably on the shelf alongside the Kristina boxes and provides ready access to the music when I want it.So this is a nice storage option. It's a stylish box. A box, that amazon will ship in another box.And that's the way it is in 2019.Thanks for reading -

sturdy and looks great
I purchased one of these for storage on our decorative shelves in our den. Love the look of this and it is very sturdy. Works great to hid items for storage while adding a nice look to the room. I currently use it for extra battery storage. I liked it so much I ended up buying another one later.

Pretty and sturdy
I bought a couple of these boxes to fit on my book shelf to hold some extra cord and items that needed to be in reach but hidden. The box is pretty and the handle is sturdy and great to grab off the shelf. Worked perfectly for what I needed.

Great for storing memos & fabric bits (despite caveats)
I own a lot of these original Bigso boxes despite the following issues. The Silvia is made of a curious older cardboard concoction that smells of stuff that could evoke a warning to Californians. Also, the material is not super durable; the lids are always the first to tear after less than a dozen uses. The material can also stain from moisture or dirty hands. But the Silvia is just so nicely proportioned and in great colors that I tolerate all this and try not to breathe too much around them. The dimensions are superb for storing memo-pad sheets upon which you've written stuff you just know you will get to some day. And torn-out magazine pages folded in half. Same for fat quarters or other bits of fabric is you are a quilter. For storing extra special fabric in the long term, I line the box and lid with buffered acid-free tissue paper. Then I line THAT lining (or wrap the fabric bundle) with several sheets of non-buffered acid-free tissue. Buffering agents can migrate and most preservation sources recommend non-buffered paper for cottons and buffered for more organic materials (i.e. now dead, but attached to something previously alive and breathing) like silk, wool, and leather.I go to this trouble because I have lost a lot of collectibles to improper storage. These boxes also prevent sun/light damage to fabrics, a horrible thing to discover too late for many stash builders.

Great Purchase
Super pleased with this purchase! I am using it for under my bedside table and it is much sturdier than I had assumed it would be! It fits a good amount and closes nicely, plus has a very clean and simple look to it that I love!

Well constructed storage
The price is a little steep for the product and has increased dramatically since I bought them a couple years ago, but they are well made and a perfect fit for storing DVDs or CDs.

Arrived with bashed-in lid
This fits CDs, MP3s, in thin or thick hard plastic jackets perfectly. However, the lid was bashed in on both ends and on one side. I attach photos of the inside of the lid showing all three areas of damage.Too much trouble to return, but really! With the millions and millions of items that Amazon packs and sends, you would think they could do this right by now. Alas, not the case here. No airpack, no bubble wrap, no brown "butcher" paper, just this box in the thinnest clear plastic wrap sloshing around inside a MUCH larger cardboard box.Grrr.Sigh.

Great boxes for storage or decorating.
These are terrific boxes that are working perfectly for my extensive dvd collection. I hope when I need more boxes they are still available. And it is good that they are wrapped in plastic when shipped because the cardboard box they were packed in was completely soaked from rain when delivered by the postal service. No damage to the product because they are wrapped well at the factory.
