I bought this for my 10 year old catcher. He wanted the traditional 2 peice head gear instead of the one peice Catcher’s helmet. He loves it. It fitted well and goes on and off easily which is what he wanted. It is a great quality. There were stickers on it that came off easily and didn’t leave any markings on the cap which I was worried about by reading reviews. Looks perfect.

Fits my 9yo perfectly. Hockey style masks were constantly causing him to have a head ache by the end of the game, this protects him with a half mask, half the weight, and allows him to play without any discomfort.

If your baseball league will allow this to be used for catching, i highly recommend it. It be sure if your rules. We play baseball in the South, so it’s hot April to Oct and this is much cooler than the alternative. Be sure you do your research on the mask you get to go with it. Also, I got this for my 9 year old. He is average size and it fits him well.

Wow, could this be any cooler? We bought it for my 10 year old son who loves baseball, and in particular playing catcher. He has a big head (7 1/4), so instead of the hockey style catcher's helmet, we wanted to try out the skull cap/ catcher's mask combo. We have yet to field test it, but for now my son can not seem to take this off around the house. I've tried it on, and it's very comfortable and light.

Great helmet, just a tad small for my 7 5/8 melon. I don't know why they don't make man-sized helmets😡😡

My son is 13 and has a normal size head for his age. He did not like the hockey style masks so I went old school. He loves the gear and it has helped his vision and easy of taking it off when needed. Being a catcher, he has had some balls go off the skull cap and mask - no problemo.

I catch for two recreational leagues, and I got this helmet to protect my noggin in case something gets away from me. I have also noticed there are some players who throw the bat pretty hard. I don't want to get hit by that, but I especially don't want to get hit on an unprotected head by that!Haven't had any instances where I can review the helmet for its protectiveness, but I can say, I feel a little more protected when wearing it. And that's pretty good. (I also live the color purple!)
