FALSE DESCRIPTION
This product is described, inter alia, as "Soil Moisture Sensor for Potted Plants" and this is the purpose for which I bought it. but this is a false description.It is, in fact, solely a WATER LEVEL INDICATOR. It relies for its action on a red filament which has a float on its bottom end; as the water level rises, the float pushes the filament up into the transparent tube on the top. Several of my self-watering pots are equipped with exactly the same mechanism, buit in, to indicate when the reservoir needs filling.So, make sure you have a use for it. Meanwhile, Amazon, please ask the sellers to amend their description...
