Dahle 507 A4 Self-Sharpening Paper Trimmer Guillotine with Safety Cutting Protection, Blue

This was my first time trying an A3 Dahle rotary cutter, and although the shopping experience on Amazon wasn't great on this occasion, this model of cutter which I purchased from a different website is still fantastic, so I felt I should provide a review of it. I needed an A3 cutter for work and after reading some reviews, Dahle is a name that came up often. I decided to go for this 508 model as the reviews seemed quite positive overall. When the order arrived from Amazon, it was the wrong model. Amazon were quick to put it right and offer a replacement but I needed it ASAP and couldn’t wait a few more days, so I ordered it from another website. The cutter, however, is perfect! It is a beautifully designed paper cutter for up to A3 size. The item is of excellent quality, well-made, and has a good weight to it. It feels strong and robust. The rubber foot in the middle provides great grip and stability. It's easy to take apart and maintain, and replacement blades are also available and reasonably priced. The cutter is very sharp and cuts perfect straight edges. Trimming can go right down to less than a millimetre. Before buying it, I read some reviews mentioning that the blade can get misaligned and cuts poorly with jagged edges, but I’ve not experienced that at all. I’ve had this cutter since February and used it daily, and it's still as sharp as the day I first used it. The blades glide smoothly and cut cleanly. The only thing I dislike about it is the sound it makes when it cuts; it goes through me, almost like a chalk on a chalkboard sound as the paper is cut. It still bothers me to this day, but it's a small price to pay for such a reliable cutter. I mostly cut thicker A3 sublimation paper, but I have also used it to trim photos down to size, and it works equally well. It can also cleanly cut multiple sheets at once without affecting the performance and accuracy of the blade. I think the most I've tried is six. It's quite expensive for an A3 rotary cutter, but the quality really does speak for itself. I can't recommend this enough; it's a great quality paper cutter. This is a well made paper trimmer it's very robust and great quality and the blade is super sharp and si easy to change the cutter well worth the money

Sturdy and made of metal, the guillotine feels well made and expensive. The down side is that the blade sometimes jumps through track - usually caused by cutting too much at once or cutting something that's too thick for the guillotine to handle. It's easily fixed, with instructions on how to do so in the box, but a bit of a pain. If you continue to cut without fixing, it won't cut very well at all - i think this is the reason for some of the poor reviews for cutting quality.

Brilliant quality guillotine, really happy with the quality of cuts, I use it for making proxy cards, playing cards, greetings cards etc. It hasn't struggled with anything, even heavyweight laminated card. The swapple heads are a great feature, and I'll be picking up a scoring and perforation head ASAP!

This item arrived on time but the blade does not cut paper without leaving jagged edges. Tried with 1 piece of paper, 3 pieces, 5 pieces. No difference. Can't be used as leaves paper looking awful. Have requested refund. Waiting to hear back.

Needed a paper trimmer for occasional use at home for cutting photos and lightweight card. This is perfect for my needs.

I had one of these trimmers for nearly thirty years and used it most days. When it finally came to the end of its life I thought I would just get a cheaper one as I don't need it as often these days. I regretted it from the first cut, and within a year it was thrown out to be replaced by, you guessed, it another Dahle one. Don't be tempted to buy a cheaper trimmer. This one cuts thin card and multiple sheets of paper with ease - every time.

Bought one of these about 15 years ago, which has had plenty of use, & has given excellent service. However it was suffering from wear & tear & the cutter was losing it's edge, so decided to replace it. New one looks just as good - here's to another 15 years of service. (fingers crossed)

Snijd het papier niet maar scheurt het meer op zich kan ik dat ook gebruiken maar heb wel een andere papiersnijder gekocht om papier te kunnen snijden

Lo cercavo da un pò, preciso nel taglio, ho preso l'articolo 507 pe fogli A4, la lama a rotella taglia con precisione i fogli, sia le foto, taglio netto senza sbavature la lama è protetta ed inacessibile alle dita e lo strumento si può lasciare usare tranquillamente ai bambini perchè è sicuro. In passato ne ho usati altri più economici, ma dopo pochi fogli la lama non faceva più tagli netti e sbavava, inoltre se si rifilava meno di tre mm il foglio veniva piegato e non tagliato. Questo articolo invece è eccellente anche per rifilare piccole misure. Spero che la lama duri molto, ho visto che il ricambio è costoso Ottimo prezzo in questo momento lo consiglio.

Well made and feels good quality. I use it cut photography paper in to the lengths I need, this gives an extremely sharp and clean cut. Have used this for over 500 cuts so far and still works like it did on the day one. Highly recommended.
