A very good choice if you want genuine USB 3 performance
I ordered this from Amazon a short while ago and got the cable in proper Tripp-Lite packaging, not an unmarked plastic bag that is the leper's bell of counterfeit products pretending to be made by a reputable company like Tripp-Lite. Amazon sent me the genuine Tripp-Lite product. Good ole Amazon! The cable works very well on my USB 3 ports with external USB 3 hard drives. I tested the transfer speed and confirmed it was appropriate for USB 3.By the way: The cable length is just 3 feet - absolutely optimal for me. Be careful of long cables for USB 3 applications. USB 3 uses a very high data transfer speed that will really test the quality of cables over 3 feet long. You may not get the performance you expect with longer cables. Stick to the shortest cable length possible for high data transfer speed applications and you are less likely to be disappointed.

Great Cable! Dependable & Long.
I bought a PCIe USB 3.0 card in order to connect my devices, since my motherboard at the time didn't come with USB 3.0 headers. I needed a longer cord to get it from the back of the computer to the top of the desk. This cord was perfect.I connected it, and the cord was thin enough that it didn't cause issues. I've had other 3.0 cords that are very stiff, and won't bend to fit your needs. This was just what I needed for my new setup. It connects perfectly, and using it I get the best speeds I can possibly get with an external USB 3.0 Hard drive. At spurts I get 110 MB/s on large file transfers. My average seems to be about 70-85 MB/s. Still VERY good for an external. Thanks to Amazon Prime, I got it in 2 Business days. My local store had a similar cable for $30. This was outrageous considering I found it here for $7-8 (including shipping).I don't know the issues that others have with it, but as an I.T. Professional this is the most perfect cable.

Probably worth five stars, pending longevity
I thought I'd reviewed this cable already, but found out I hadn't. They SOLVE the oft-cited complaint against WD Passport 1TB and 500GB drives: THESE cords, make the drives reliable.See: WD Passport 3.0 models have snickety cords. Sometimes the cords work, sometimes not. Sometimes the cords build up static, and then the computer cannot detect them, sometimes not. A lot has to do with whether the 'WD SES driver' is being used (yes, you need it, but sometimes Win XP or 7 think you don't). The static problem is solved by disconnecting and reconnecting, but who wants that hassle?Enter therefore, Tripp LIte 3.0 BLUE cords. Yeah, am sick of snaking black cords. If I had the time I'd go round to all my 25 machines and buy colored cords for all of them. For you can't really hide the dang things, can you. May as well get color, then. This BLUE one pairs nicely with my BLUE WD Ultra drives, which I got on Black Friday 2013. But hey, it also goes with my older RED and BLACK WD Passport 3.0's.It's longer than the WD cord as well; which matters a bunch, since WD Passports are also tempermental: you don't want to bump them much. So the heft of this heavier, longer cord a) keeps the WD unit more stable, less susceptible to bumping problems, and b) enables one to drape the cord better, so it doesn't 'stripe' your decor.A final note re 3.0 speeds: you can't get them unless your COMPUTER has a 3.0 port. No external 3.0 hub will work fully, unless it also is plugged into a 3.0 port. So expect 2.0 speeds, else.Very happy camper.

DO NOT BUY FROM NON-AMAZON SELLERS, YOU'LL PROB GET A GENERIC KNOCK-OFF
****My star rating is based on Tripp Lite reputation and my experiences with their products. Since I never actually recieved a TL U326-006 the rating doesn't actually reflect that particular cable. ***MY STORY:I ordered the item from Vostrostone (Fulfilled by Amazon). Sadly the item was NOT as described. Cable was a generic 6FT USB 3.0 cable IN a regular plastic bag with a taped label saying it was the name-brand I ordered (Tripp Lite). I can verify it is indeed not genuine because I ordered a different length of TL cable directly from Amazon and as expected it did arrive in the original OEM TL packaging bag. The design and color (of blue) is slightly different between the two cables. The really funny thing is that Amazon's product description warns you that unless it's shipped in a genuine TL bag it's not TL.So it's not a TL cable is it at least a 3.0 cable?I used CrystalDiskMark 3.0.1 to test the speed of the cable when compared to the 4FT Seagate OEM cable. Perhaps not the most scientific test for all parameters of a USB 3.0 but I gave it a shot. The results surprised me! The generic cable showed INCREASED performance on nearly all tests. I can also say the gauge/shielding of the generic cable appears to be 2x thicker than my OEM USB 3.0. If the cable holds up over time or performance decreases has yet to be seen, but at least the cable I received APPEARS to perform just as good if not better than the OEM USB 3.0 cable that came with my Seagate 3TB 3.5 external drive. I kept my cable and reported the descrepentcy in the seller's feedback. I then reported it to Amazon so that they know the seller is undercutting Amazon direct prices by shipping inferior products. Ultimately I had to keep the cable (for now) because I was in immediate need of it and it appears to be working. Given previous bad experience with generic cables I'll probably still end up ordering this again.. but next time it will ONLY be from Amazon.

Works good for me...
Quality seems solid. Has a good feel to it, the connectors are solid. It doesn't fit quite as tight as the original one that came with my WD hard drive, but it stays just fine.Other reviewers here have complained that it only transfers at USB 2.0 speeds... My aging laptop only has USB 2.0 anyhow, so, I can't comment on whether the cable I received can go faster or not. But, for me, it works just fine.I just wish the hard drive manufacturers would ship their drives a decent length cable to begin with! Even 3 feet would be useful. Seriously, why ship a drive with a cable less than a foot long in the first place.
