Great heavy duty BBQ gloves, a bit awkward to clean, and a strong smell that's starting to go away
Great heavy duty BBQ gloves, a bit awkward to clean, and a strong smell that's starting to go away. Was looking for some rubber heat resistant BBQ gloves to handle meat directly as I had cloth/leather type gloves prior. This works great, I haven't ever had issue with feeling heat from anything I've touched. But I've also mostly used these gloves when doing low and slow. Moving the grates, meat, adding wood to the fire, all without any discomfort and I always felt safe. The gloves are kind of awkward to clean because the fingers are stiff, but it's not really that big of an issue. There was definitely a strong rubber smell to them for a while, but that has started to go away with more use/washing. I did wash with hot water and dish soap, and scrubbed it down when I first got it with a scrubbing pad, but the smell was still a bit there. If that bothers you, at least now you know.Overall minor issues for me, great gloves, and are super thick so I'm still happy with the purchase.

EXCELLENT FOR WELDING!
These turned out to be really great gloves for High Amperage TIG Welding. If you have an air cooled torch, you're doing MIG or Stick welding you'll enjoy these gloves. They don't have a lot of dexterity but they do soften up.Here is a trick I found that helped me.Wash the gloves twice in the washing machine. That gets rid of most of the plastic smell.Use a hair dryer and dry the gloves inside. It takes a while. Putting them in the dryer won't work. Then they're ready for use. They really do hold out the heat. I'd say you don't feel much under 800dgs. Part of it has to deal with how sustained your hands are in the heat. But I had no problem maxing out my welder and not feeling much of any heat at all. Would definitely recommend for any high heat welding or fabrication.

Work well so far
I’ve had this for a couple months now, And they seem to be holding up and working well. I grabbed a hot grill grates, food, super hot salt block, and no issues.

Dangerous
Dangerous, temperature rating is not accurate. Very unhappy with product. Gloves worked fine with hot food. The first time I picked up some grill grates that were 600*F within 5 seconds the gloves started to melt. They advertise a temperature rating of over 1200* F and the 600*F temperature of the grates was confirmed with an IR thermometer. Don't purchase and expect them to work for anything more than hot food.

Great high heat grill/smoker/dutch oven gloves
My first high temp glove and still getting used to operating with the designed bulk. I am easily able to grab cast iron grill grated with mild heat transferring through the gloves at worst.I wouldn’t recommend holding cast items at temp for long, but i’ve been able to maneuver around during high temp cooks without getting burned. While holding heated items, there is present a distinct heated plastic smell, but i have yet to detect any melting on the gloves. They are soft on the inside and the cuff folds down until you need the added length.Only reason not a five is how they will hold up over time, which will have to be an update.

Heat resistant....but? WTH
Appears packaging means Absolutely nothing to the seller. The gloves came unboxed in Very very thin flimsy cellophane paper .The cellophane didn’t Have words on it.To make matters worse there were absolutely no instructions nor guidelines as to what these gloves are for 😡I bought these as a gift so When I gift it I will have to show them the advertisement to prove what these gloves will do.What the hell?😡

For hot bbq
My husband really likes these gloves. He used them for the first time a few days ago and he is completely happy with them. He said he was able to hold his hot food with no problem at all. He said he did not feel the heat nor did it feel slippery. I got him the long glove and they are perfect for him.

Protects arm when grilling
I had to get these for when I grill. I’m short and the grill is big, so when I raise the lid my arm reaches over the heat, close to the grates. After a grilling flare up one day my arm was red from the fire and had to be soaked the rest of the day. Plus, the grill handle is stainless of all things so it gets hot too. I now wear these gloves to open and close the grill. I haven’t felt any heat through them and they cover most of my arm. The only downside is the fingers themselves are not too flexible but I’m willing to overlook that if I they prevent burns on my hands and arms!
