Betrock's Essential Guide to Palms Hardcover – November 15, 2007

I'm a new hobbyist to palm growing having taken it up in May this year after a trip to Bali.I bought this book because there was a lot of information on the web that was difficult to assimilatecomprehensively. This book has EVERYTHING i needed to know, from identifying palm species to what type of palmsto grow in a small garden (we have 1/3 acre plot). I loved the section on fast growing palms and obviously appreciated the"Growing palms from seeds" chapter. There is a good amount of info on what types of palms to grow where..eg. what palms to palms ashedges.The book is very easy to read with simple explanations and a wealth of well put together images to substantiate the subject.Worth every cent.!!!!

I bought this for my boyfriend who has a lot of palm trees. This book is a great reference book to have on hand for identifying and caring for palms.

Having just recently moved to Florida with all of the different species of trees, this guide is very informative

After a recent trip to Florida, I wanted to know about the different types of palm trees. This beautiful book contains everything I could ever want to know. It has gorgeous pictures to help me identify trees, locations where the trees are found and so much more.

I purchased this reference for my wife, due to her fondness for Florida palms. But for identification purposes , it is NOT an ideal reference. Pictures are too small to really help in identifying palms.
