Amazing software worth the price -- read for important info
Zbrush is an amazing tool to extend other 3d programs like Maya or Max. It offers a unique method of creating industry quality 3d designs that can be used from program to program.A few notes of caution to new users:1. Zbrush updates their software roughly 4 times a year. The software you are buying will likely be obsolete but do not panic! Zbrush allows you to update your version to the current version free regardless of what version you have as long as you have legitimate proof that you purchased it and have a coupon code of purchase. This is a great feature that software like Adobe does not offer. They only allow a few versions back to be upgraded and charge you a fortune to do so. Follow the instructions on the paper that comes with the disk and it will lead you to an online download of the program.IMPORTANT: the download is huge. My computer could not take it even though it met the required components until I put the cd's disk in while I tried to download. For some reason having the disk in your computer the same time you try to make the online download helps a great deal. It should take roughly 30 min to download with a computer that meets the requirements. I also read on forms that having the download disk in your computer while using zbrush can boost how fast it runs. No idea why this is the case but I know it works for downloading from online at least.2. Zbrush is a great company with amazing customer service. I received a reply hours after contacting them the same day with a detailed and helpful reply.3. Don't expect to be a master of this overnight. It is a complicated program. Take a look at "zbrush screenshots" on google to get an idea of the interface. It is similar to other 3d programs. It is a great software but it will take time to get to know it so be patient and try small projects first before tackling a major project if you are not familiar with it.4. Have fun!

The ZBrush Challenge.
Starting my second month "learning" ZBrush. It is an incredible program! It must have been made for the PC, so I (Mac OS 10.9.4) am finding I have to work my way around a lot of issues like the program crashing when I try to apply Adaptive skin to my zspheres (a bug that might get fixed in next version), or .jpgs not being THE special, exact .jpgs that Zbrush will import. If you have a lot of extra time on your hands and like to scream when things don't work as expected, ZBrush offers some really cool features like Dynamesh, ZRemesher,great brushes for sculpting and lots of other features. The explanations on the ZBrush site seem so simple, obviously made by experts, but I find I spend a lot of time on YouTube hunting for the little steps left out - answers that third parties seem to provide out of pity. ZBrush is an amazing piece of technology - Their phone support is only for issues involving installation and getting the program to run so don't call and ask why you curve slice brush won't work - it's not AppleCare. Thank you for trying help me with my problem, but I got it solved!
Sorry for the bad review before, I got it working once I got to the right webpage. I thought the key was the activation code, but it turns out you have to enter the key at a website I wasn't finding at first. Which gave me the serial number. Which gave me the code to activate it. Its been awhile since I bought a major new program. I take it all the codes are a security or anti-piracy thing. My only misgiving was that the case arrived broken. It may have been damaged by the shipping service. Thank you for checking in to see if I got it resolved over the phone. All and all I'm pleased its working and I have a new program to learn!
