GUNBUDD IS FREAKING AWESOME!!!!
The media could not be loaded. I received my gunbudd today and let me tell you that it is amazing! It's better than I thought! It has 3 light settings and their great very bright. I love the 3rd light setting better for me. Specially the fact that you swing your hand in front of the light and it turns off without you having to press any buttons. It fits perfect around my gun cup, I like that you can adjust the strap to any size cup.I tried it on my touch up gun too and its awesome! I am able to see my wet edge as I'm painting I know that's a concern with people who have tried lights on their gun but man I dont know why I didnt get this a long time ago but I am glad that I did purchase it! It was worth every penny and for the price you cant go wrong! I will need a few of these gunbudds for me and to gift for my family that do painting also. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would.

Works as intended with caveats.
I've been doing autobody and painting in my garage since 2005. Lighting and ventilation are two of the biggest problems when you don't have a booth to spray the paint in.'Years ago, I looked at the Aurora from Luma III. Aside from the cost of one item, I spray with at least 3 different guns (Spot, Primer, Base and Clear Coat). The thought of having to spend that kind of money times 3 put me off. That would also mean I'd need to maintain all three since they aren't interchangeable.Enter GunBudd. I lived in Honolulu for close to ten years and thought for the price, why not give the "local boys" a shot? The GunBudd is certainly cheaper than the Aurora LED system and it's not Spray Gun specific, so I only need one for all my guns.I gave the GunnBudd a shot on my current project, refinishing a Rear Deck Lid for a Audi B6 A4.Firstly the Gunbudd will not outshine any other lighting already in place (work-lamps or ceiling mounted) but complement it.Actually I don't think andyLED Lamp this small would. So it works best when the lighting is marginal. If you ever painted before you'll know what I mean by "eliminating shadows" on the panel your painting.Secondly, I use the 1st gen 3m PPS system and I had no problem fitting the GunBudd on the Mini sized cup (7-3/4" circumference). However when I switched to the Standard sized cup (12-1/8" circumference) the GunBudd mounting kept separating from the light during installation and removal.I was able to get it on and the GunBudd didn't come apart again while painting (thank god), but when your all suited up and ready to go, I wasn't planning on spending the extra time fooling around with the lamp while attaching the cup to the spray gun.I was worried that the GunBudd would add weight to the spray gun and/or make the spray gun feel unbalanced. It did not. What I did find was that I spent more time positioning the gun at the panel to get the best lighting from the Gunbudd, instead of focusing on my tip to panel distance and gun angle to panel. However after spraying one or two coats with the Gunbudd, I became familiar with it enough that it no longer presented that problem.I was also worried that the strap would hold onto contaminates and then let them drop into fresh coatings on the panel. That didn't happen but it's something to keep in mind.Overall I'm happy with my purchase but only gave 4 stars to because if difficulties on fitting the GunBudd when the strap is at it's max. The strap slips out of the mount to easily.

The, concept of lighting as you paint is a good one. It definitely helps in dark areas. The item it self has some problems. #1 is that the strap is no good minds broke the first day. #2 is those freaking button's that you have to press down hard on them. I wouldn't recommend. Imagine painting a car and everytime you do a layer of base or clear you have to turn it off and on cause it doesn't do it itself. This thing will get full of paint fast, it not inclosed. So how long you think it will last in a busy shop. For 70 bucks if not worth it.

Not worth the hype
Got my gun buddy and tried it out while painting a car. Definitely not worth the money I paid. Has 3 light settings, the round pencil beam is useless. the wide beam is better, not as bright as I'd like, was still working in dark and shadows. the sensor that shuts light off and on, mine kept shutting off and on as I made a pass , I used the other button so it stays on, It was hard to get the light where i needed it, I had it angled down as far as I could, be better if gun had 2 lights on both sides of the cap. Disappointed, seen identical looking light for $12 . Not worth the $49-$59 price.

A light weight light that fits on your spray gun canister
The Gun Budd is a headlamp style light that is USB rechargeable. It has a motion sensor to turn it on when in use and has four settings for the light control from spot to flood. It's made of composites and is light weight. It is useful in providing reflection to ensure even paint coverage. I will report back on it's performance after I have put it to use. Overall a good tool for better paint jobs.
