I love these containers. The major reason is that they are microwaveable, and we heat up a lot if dishes and soups in these containers. Then you can snap the container into the lid and hold the lid to eat the goodies rather than try to handle a too warm container. My husband and I often heat food in these containers in order to read or watch TV while we eat. There are several sizes, but we buy the 5 oz size, which is just right for a can of soup. They are also really easy to store within one another, and the lids stack together along side the containers. The lids are very durable, even after repeated dishwasher uses. We have had several for some time. I will admit that, after continually putting them in the microwave, they do start to crack. I do not get too upset if they crack as you can continue to use them, but you do need to determine when the cracks are just too many. The cracks do not break the plastic nor does the liquid or food come out through the cracks, but my husband told me to buy a new set as he figured they might crack open at any time. I just bought a new set on Amazon because the seller had more of a competitive price. Moreover, I like these so much better than the cheapy plastic containers that start to break down after using them in the microwave and get the disgusting white, torn-up look to them - containers that you have to constantly replace. I just wish that Rubbermaid could figure out a plastic that wouldn't crack to go with their terrific lids.

I really love these Rubbermaid containers and their unique lids. They come in several different sizes so you can readily find the size you need. Best of all, you choose the container size you want and don't have to buy a set of 10-18 to get a couple containers at the size you want. The lids snap on without any trouble, are easy to find and store. The set is dishwasher safe and the lids don't fly around in the dishwasher. The lid is much easier to snap on the bottom storage container with its rubber edges then the all plastic lids which can be hard when you don't have a lot of finger strength. The containers stack in the fridge and don't sift/slide around due to the inset rubber lid. The bottom storage container has a pretty transparent pattern that make the whole set look more attractive than plain plastic ones and the pattern doesn't overpower or jump out at you. The set comes in either red or purple lids so you get to choose the color you want. The color I chose is listed as purple but I would say it is more blue. I like that I can chose the color I want as I don't really like red storage containers. I love love love these storage containers! While I still keep a few of the grocery store plastics for carry-in situations where I do not mind if I lose a container, these are the only things I want to use in my home. I have found that I can heat anything in them in the microwave without any concerns regarding staining or the plastic actually melting, regardless of how hot I heat the food. Maybe I am just lazy, but I like to use the 2-cup ones to heat and then eat from them, so melting plastic is just not something I want in my diet! These are very attractive, with the etched design in the bowl, and I love the sturdiness of the lids. They also stack, with lids securely attached, very neatly, with the smaller ones nesting inside the larger ones. They seem to seal perfectly, and I am no longer worrying about eating plastic when I use a bowl to heat something and see that it is stained and melted. I bought multiples of these in several different sizes and got rid of all the old melted stained stuff. And an added plus for me is that these are made in the USA - yes!!! Jobs for Americans and great containers for me to use! These are much more reasonably priced than comparable Tupperware, too.

I have been purchasing these Rubbermaid Storage containers for quite a few years. I really like them and the purple color is pretty and subtle. When I give my family leftovers, I don't always get my containers back, hence.....this is a replacement. I don't use them in the freezer very often as I prefer to keep them for leftovers in the refrigerator. I have all sizes and use these containers almost daily.They are really airtight and I have not had any problems with staining. So the containers always looks new.

Storage containers: we need them, we love them; we hate them... The ones from the grocery store are commonly so flimsy as to defy much reuse. I say a short prayer every time I put them in the microwave. These will not have that problem: they are built like tanks but they are about as bulky as tanks, too. The tops, especially, have been overbuilt--they have too much material and even the product picture shows how heavy and how deep the lids are. Partly, this is to facilitate stacking of same sized containers in the refrigerator or lids on the shelf in the cupboard. On the whole, they do the job and they do it with typical 'Rubbermaid' style and quality.
