Honestly, I’m hooked (no pun intended). This magnet truly dominates the game. Not only did it arrive one day early (thanks Muscular Magnetics!) but I took it out today and caught 10x more than I normally do with my single sided. I’m sold. Here’s what I love about it: 1. Durability. This magnet is tough as nails. I chose Muscular Magnetics again, after I dropped their 625lb 20 feet into concrete, and it did ZERO damage. This magnet is no different. No decrease in pull strength, no stress it’s going to break. Even the carabiner it comes with is excellent. 2. Pull. When they mean 1225lbs, they MEAN IT. This magnet may be small but I had no issues pulling bikes and scooters out of the lake today. 3. The Grappling Hook. Honestly, don’t be fooled by how small this hook is (it could fit in one hand). They claim it is rated for 125lbs but it has to be more. I got it snagged on some rocks and after 30 minutes of pulling in different directions, I decided to cut my losses and see if I could muscle it out in hopes of bending the prong that was stuck. NOPE. I’m a strong guy but no amount of force caused this thing to even budge. Impressive. Luckily I tried one last angle and it finally freed. Phew. This kit has everything you need to start magnet fishing. If you’re considering this as your first magnet, or even as an upgrade to your current magnet, I say go for it! You won’t be disappointed. Great work Muscular Magnetics, you have a lifelong customer.

We purchased this 1225 LB double-sided magnet to use for magnet fishing. We have other magnets, but this one better suits our needs. First of all, it is strong! Each side has over 600 lbs of pull. We easily pulled a waterlogged Razor scooter out of a lake at a public boat dock. It attached to the frame and never slid on the round surface. Secondly, it’s not too heavy. In order for us to repeatedly toss a magnet into a lake, without hurting a shoulder or something, we needed a lighter weight magnet. This magnet is a great weight and easy to throw. Third, the rest of the kit is great. It has everything you need. Even a little grappling hook! I’ve read some reviews about the rope getting tangled and kinked up. That is true, but all ropes do that after being coiled up. After completely uncoiling the rope and using it a few times, the kinks mellow out a bit. The carabiner is good quality; we like that it has the safety screw lock. When using this magnet with the ring on the top or bottom, the carabiner does fine. When you put the ring on the side, for easy dragging, the carabiner gets in the way. You would be better off to tie the rope directly to the hook ring. Lastly, this magnet is affordably priced. Other magnet companies charge more than this, and that’s just for the magnet, itself. We were looking for a high quality, double sided, neodymium magnet, for magnet fishing, and we were delighted to find this one. It suits our needs, perfectly!

Like I had said, can't see mich if anything wrong with the magnet. I have not much experience or expertise on magnets, but it'll pull up some stuff alright. As for the hook, that seems decent for a cheapie hook. The "caliber" or whatever it was called, the actual clip that connects the rope to the magnet, is pretty bad. Just very, very cheap. Along with the rope. The rope will doubtibly break or rip, seems okay for a cheap rope. But the knot they used was very basic. To the point I'd fear it slipping out of the knot and loosing the magnet. The gloves are the cheapest and thinnest pair I've ever worn. So those are just a 7 cent add on out of their pockets. So yeah. All in all, you get a solid magnet with decent build quality along with the hook being close to the standard of the magnets quality with a handful of cheap crap. Crap that will get you bye, but still, basically crap. I'm sure they're just trying to appeal to the shopper like myself, not wanting to buy a $100 starter kit for a hobby that idek if I'll get into heavily. So theyake the price more appealing and allows me to take the chance with more comfortability. I can respect and understand that. So again, magnet is great, gloves and others are just eh. So I'd recommend the magnet and brand, just buy it separate and get some gloves and (maybe?) A hook from the hardware store with some strong rope and you're solid!

If you're looking for an interesting and fun pastime, look no further! Magnet fishing is a fast growing hobby and Muscular Magnetics is an industry leader with a fantastic product. After applying the threadlocker to my 2625lb double sided magnet and waiting a couple days for it to fully and securely set, I took it for its maiden voyage. Just off a pair of docks I found 5 pocket knives, lots of bolts, nuts, nails and screws and washers, scissors, eyeglasses, cans and fishing gear to nameva few items. We even found a car bumper and a Smith & Wesson revolver from the 1800s! It's so exciting when you pull out a cool new item and bystanders love it too. So many laughs! The rest of the kit is top tier material,too. Everything is super durable. The rope given is strong enough to pull up the magnet no matter what it's stuck on. You won't break it. As long as the magnet holds onto the item, you'll be able to pull it up. The grappling hook can help pull up big items like bikes and shopping carts. Really useful item. Muscular Magnetics has excellent customer service and will do everything they can to make your order right if there's any issues. Very friendly and understanding folks! I'll definitely do business with them again, I'm so impressed with this kit. Money well spent!

This was my first magnet. Dropped it in the river off the side of a bridge and it latched onto something that was nearly unmovable. After a lot of pulling from a group of people, turns out that the magnet was latched onto an engine block...really! Unfortunately, an engine block is a very dense hunk of metal. And this magnet is rated at over 900lb. With such dense metal, and such a strong magnet...there was no way to get the magnet off of the engine. And it was not something that could be moved, since it was a large and very heavy engine. So there was no choice but to cut the rope on the first time I ever went magnet fishing. So the moral of the story is : This is a very strong and high quality magnet! This thing does not let go! So you've been warned! Avoid catching engines!

I used the set about 3-5 times magnets are as strong as they they say weak carabiners might as well or some strong ones when you’re ordering this because the ones they have broke on me and my magnets went from a nice silver color now only a few times later which after each trip I cleaned them up the don’t give you anything to store the magnets and if these magnets get near your wallet or iPhone iWatch etc their fried I went to get ready for a trip and I had to buy a handgun safe to store each magnets the silver was pealed of on all of them after on a few time using them they lost a ton of strength I was really dissatisfied and what I felt wasted my time the only magnets that truly last in my personal opinion is brute magnets I’ve spent almost 1k on Brute magnets and those never let me down I’ve tried Kong Chinese ones muscle magnets they all suck don’t waste your time looking for others trust me I’ve tried and if your getting a magnets get a case for it if it doesn’t come with one rate this set 3/10 won’t buy again only thing about the kit is the ropes are high quality if your a family man or a magnet fishing and easiest pass up this offer I’m telling you thank me later

I have not tried the product yet but did not receive the D ring that connects the magnet. Everything was well packaged though. Can you please ship me one asap? As soon as I get the ring and try it out I will redo my review. FOLLOW UP REVIEW: I originally posted a 1 star because I thought the carabiner was missing...So, I emailed the seller and within 20 min. I got an email back nicely asking me to unwind the 100 ft rope and see if the carabiner was attached...it WAS!! You just couldn't see it and even though a flexed the well-packaged rope back and forth I didn't feel it either. They were so pleasant and understanding in their communication. We went out immediately and tried it. All items were good quality. The light-weight100 ft. rope needs to be stretched hard before casting as it will kink and knot. The magnet AND rope were extremely strong, I had trouble getting the magnet off a large steel pipe. I love the way the carabiner is attached to the rope, very secure. Thread lock for the I-bolt was a great idea. The gloves were thin but seem tough, soft mesh top, a rubbery bottom with good gripping, much like gardening gloves. The gloves fit my woman hands perfect, my hubby tried them and they were a bit tight but comfortable. The grappling hook is light weight and perfect size. I changed it to 5 stars because not only is it a quality product, it has everything you need for metal fishing AND best of all, the seller was so very nice and had quick response time. This was the first of 3 magnets I've purchased from Muscular Magnetics, I originally had purchased it to drag across my gravel driveway, due to 2 flat car tires within a month of each other. During only a 15 minute break while working from home, it picked up a few screws, couple of nails and some other small random pieces of metal that I couldn't see in the rocks. From there, we've taken it out to the local rivers, lakes, ponds, and creeks and found our new hobby. We've pulled out shopping carts, railroad spikes, fishing poles, and numerous pieces of scrap metals. Very nice piece of equipment, and stronger than expected! The rope is tough, and more than long enough. The kit comes with loctite for the eyelets and tape for the rope knot. The loctite is very, very important! After a few throws, the eyelet can loosen if you don't use it, and you risk losing the magnet in the water. The gloves are very comfortable, even when they're wet from pulling out your finds. They grip makes pulling the rope very easy, and protects your hands from rope burn and debris stuck to the magnet. All-in-all, my family was presently suprised with the amount of fun this item has brought us. It's a great cure for quarantine boredom, and gives my kids a distraction from their phones tablets for a few hours! Highly recommended!
