Cute and fun for many ages!
We got this for our 4 year old for Christmas. She absolutely LOVES it. I couldn't really figure out how it was played based on the description, but I took a chance that princesses + cupcakes = happy daughter. It's even cuter than I imagined. Each cupcake breaks apart into 4 different pieces - the topping, the frosting, the cake, and the wrapper. These 40 pieces are placed in a pile in the middle of the players. Each player draws a ''recipe' card (or multiple cards) that calls for one specific topping, one frosting, one cake, and one wrapper. There is another set of tiles which are placed face down in the middle. These have pictures of either toppings, frosting, cake, wrapper, wild card, clock, or reshuffle. If a player draws one of the tiles that has an ingredient, they then choose that corresponding piece. A wild card lets the player choose any piece they need. Reshuffle turns all of the used tiles face down again so they're back in the draw pile. The clock pieces are placed to the side...if all 4 clock pieces are drawn, "time's up" and the game ends...whoever has completed the most cupcake pieces wins. It sounds complicated, but it's very simple. My 4 year old figured it out completely after playing it once. As a side note, the pieces are quite small and sometimes hard to put together. I found it helps if you twist the frosting into place. The small pieces would definitely be a choking hazard for a younger sibling...so be sure to watch carefully with very little ones. It's a great game of creativity, instruction following, and most importantly fun!! Would highly recommend for anyone 4+...I believe bigger kiddos would enjoy this also. Parents sure do!

Fun and educational
Bought this for my 4 year old. Played with the whole family. Everyone had fun. Cute concept. You turn over a tile, on your turn, and might be able to pick from the pile of cupcake parts, or you might have to mix up all the tiles. If you build up your cupcake, according to the card you choose, you may win. If the “villain” cupcake gets put together, the villain crashes the party and the game is over. I like that my 4 year old is learning to match the picture (colors and shapes) to build the cupcake. The pieces seem sturdy and the cards are quality and not at all flimsy.

Great game, better customer service!
This game was purchased by myself as a gift for my daughter’s 3rd birthday. As soon as we opened it we loved playing with it. The object and game play is fun and easy to follow, and the pieces are all adorable, vibrantly colored, and intricately detailed to fit themes that belong to each princess. There was one problem with the package. While we received the right number of pieces, we were missing two princesses’ wrappers and had duplicates of two others (evened our the number). For a second I considered just using them as they came, but decided to contact the company instead. I wrote a nice, detailed email to the manufacturer (Wonder Forge) and included pics of the cards and highlight circled the exact pieces I was missing. Within MINUTES I received a very kind reply saying that the missing pieces would be in the mail the same day, and they absolutely were. Received them a couple days later and my daughter and I have played many times since! She just loved putting the cupcakes together herself, as well as playing with the rules. Love it, and would make a great gift as well.

Great for kids who love to build and it's portable
I never thought I'd give a product like this five stars. I'm usually not a fan of toys like this. Super commercial, princess-oriented, tons of tiny pieces. I actually picked it up as a gift for the endless string of birthday parties but one day when I was desperate for a portable game to take on a trip, we broke into it. My 4yo daughter spends around thirty minutes each day with it since on her own and she usually only does that with magformers or legos. This is actually a very versatile toy. We haven't even played the game yet! She assembles the cupcakes by the recipe cards. She makes up her own recipes. She uses them in her toy kitchen and setting up tea time. She really loves the physical manipulation of putting them together and twisting on the frosting. There are forty cupcake pieces. Taken out of the package, everything fits into a sandwich bag. We learn what recipes/ingredients are, how to follow recipes, how to look for patterns, talk about why certain cupcakes have certain ingredients (Why does Cinderella's cupcake have a slipper or a leaf for Pocahantas), and it's a very portable game. It also inspires us to play the classic Disney songs. I even made a playlist. If you have the Disney dolls, you can even do a princess tea time with each princess having her own cupcake. If you want to use it outside of the Disney princess stuff, you can use it as a tool to learn how to write your own recipe cards and create your own recipe (use the little plastic dixie cups or plastic shot glasses and let the kids design their own dessert and then record it on a recipe card). I'd say it's a decent choice for throwing in your suitcase for playing at the hotel (but too many pieces for the plane). Some parts are much too small for babies so watch out for younger siblings. Introduce the game to 3yo kids in parts and use it to teach a "unit" on the topic of your choice, and you'll stretch the value. It is very durable and I've seen no damage to any of the pieces yet, after a lot of play time.

This game was a lot of fun for my girl who are 5 and 4 years old. They love just playing with the cupcakes and want to see if they can make cupcakes like that for real. The game itself is a little repetitive but entertaining enough. I recommend this product.

This was our Christmas gift to our 4-yr-old granddaughter. While she isn't quite patient enough to play it exactly right, her 6-yr-old sister and cousin loved playing it over and over, and we are sure that she will grow in to it. In the meantime she enjoys putting the cupcakes together, and generally getting in the way of the players! Enjoyed by all!
