Good quality decal, generous extras in the design. Application needs some planning.
I bought this wall decal in matte white. The product was exactly as pictured and came with many extra birds, and also some lovebirds and heart stickers that I decided not to use. I purchased decals from other companies that did not have a heavier vinyl material and tended to stick to the backing paper.I was nervous about this decal but it ended up being of excellent quality, it's true that you get what you pay for as this decal was more expensive than the previous ones I'd purchased. It was still tougher to apply due to the delicate nature of the design with many wispy branches. However, it came with clear instructions. I also watched some youtube videos that were extremely helpful in understanding the best and fool proof way to apply the decal so it looks like a wall painting than a peeling decal. It helps if you have walls that are plainer and not very heavily textured, also the paint should be at least 2-3 weeks old. It's tempting to put up a decal in a freshly painted room but they don't stick very well until at least a month out as paint is still drying. There are both left to right and right to left versions so pick the one you need. I installed it in the powder room, I inherited a powder room that was a funny size - extra long and narrow with a white motif painted on the walls, so I wanted something that would catch the eye and make it more interesting and this decal fitted right in as it's matte and unobtrusive. The shiny ones tend to look more like decals.Application - It's a good idea to cut the birds away individually and apply separately to the wall. Since there were enough birds I was able to create a sense that the birds were flying around my powder room giving it a whimsical feel. The tree branch must be applied in one long piece. I peeled off the blue plastic backing and positioned it carefully on the wall and fixed it to the wall with painter's tape so it wouldn't slide down or wrinkle the design. Then it was a process of slowly getting the design off the sticky paper and onto the wall - a rubber spatula worked really well and did not damage the wall. You just need to work slowly, and have some patience. As I would get one part of the decal adhered to the wall I would tear away the empty parts of the sticky backing paper in long strips, so that it would not drag down the rest of the design. Seriously, watch a video or two for the technique, it helps enormously. And like they say for IKEA furniture, drink a glass of wine and put on some good music before you begin so you don't get frustrated too early as you may end up tearing the design!I did this late one night so I could do it patiently and with no distractions, and managed to apply the decal without any tears and the final result looks great. I think it's worth getting a better quality decal, and the matte finish looks best on walls. It's held up well for the last few months since I applied it, no peeling.

Looks great but takes patience
It comes rolled in a tube in several pieces. I flattened it out for several days but it still kinda rolled at the edges. It’s a two person job and when peeling away the backing you have to make sure it’s sticking to the wall. All the birds and leaves need to be cut out individually and put on the wall. It’s a time consuming process. Some areas of the long branch got air bubbles in it that was hard to flatten. All in all I love the results and from a distance it looks like you hand painted it.

Easy to adhere, beautiful and realistic branches
The adhesive is sticky enough to adhere without curling edges, but not too sticky so that peeling it off left no damage or residue. The plastic is thick enough to be forgiving of imperfections on the wall. Small scrapes and gouges in the wall were covered and made unnoticeable. I adhered the main branch to the wall in less than 5 minutes, even taking my time. Some hints:1. It helps to have a partner.2. Before peeling anything, start by holding the decal on the wall exactly where you want to position it. (If you don't have a partner, tape the corners up and stand back to appreciate your positioning.3. While your partner holds the left part of the sheet up in position, start on the right side and peel the backing paper away a few inches, folding the backing paper underneath towards your partner while you press the decal on the right, onto the wall.4. Use your left hand to continue peeling the backing to the left, while using your right hand to press the decal onto the wall, sweeping left to smooth out any bubbles or wrinkling.5. Take your time as the smaller branches can wrinkle if you pull too hard or peel too much backing off without immediately smoothing the various decal branches onto the wall.6. Add the birds, then successively smaller items.I installed it in a medical office for a home like vibe and patients and staff alike loved it. I especially appreciated the realistic look of the branches. The birds and hearts I didn't care for, but staff liked the birds, so up they went. I got to veto the hearts. Had to draw the line before the office got too cute!

Looks like a hand painted tree, far better than I could do myself
I needed some wall decoration in a very compact main bathroom. And the color is orange green yellow there. So this seem like a really good solution. I ordered the right to left decal, BUT I installed it left to right on purpose. I wanted the majority of the branches close to the ceiling to create a canopy effect. And I didn’t use all the included birds, because I didn’t want it to look like a Hitchcock movie.I also ordered a smaller version of this decal composed of three branches. I put them in a corner, to continue the canopy look. Here are my installation tips. Keeping in mind I installed it on as semi gloss paint that had been there for years. 1. Don’t install on a high humidity day. Nothing will stick properly. 2. As you install on the wall. Cut off pieces of the transfer paper, so you can control the direction that the paper is pulling away. 3. I found a roll of painters masking tape the best tool to rub over the transfer tape firmly, and both horizontal and vertical directions. 4. Let the decal rest for one day on the wall before removing the transfer layer. Using that roll of tape, run over the transfer tape a couple times over the course of the day. Warning: Don’t go more than a day, otherwise it’s hard to remove the transfer after that amount of time.

Way better looking than I expected
When this arrived, I was like, cool, it's gonna look like a sticker on the wall. But once I put it up, I was impressed at just how nice it really does look. As far as easy to install, well, with all of those floppy pieces, do yourself a favor and put this up with a friend. I mean, I probably could have done it by myself, but it may have flopped and stuck to itself. Some spots seemed like maybe it didn't want to stick as well as I felt it should, but I just used my hair dryer on it after I put it up to ensure that it stuck better. It's been on my wall now for a few months and I get lots of compliments on it. I would totally recommend this, if it's a look your going for.
