It was just what I expected. Works great. Bravo!

Not for video
Just a word of caution, firewire-to-USB is not for video. Video capture to PC requires constant stream. You can google that info if you wish. I just want to save you some aggravation if you are getting this as a magic workaround for not having a firewire port. It's good for date, but not for video capture from a camera or other playing device. It's great for all other purposes.

Not to replace 1394 interface
The USB is not compatable as a 1394 on dv camera.

The 4pin is not standard sized
The 4pin part of the cable literally does not fit in a standard IEEE 1349 4pin input. I tried it on a Sony handycam and on my old Dell laptop that has a firewire port. So useless, like I don't know what to do with this cord it literally will not fit in anything.

It fit but....
It fit the camera I was trying to get the tapes digitized, but my PC didn't recognize it. It fit though, more work now.

I used to use a PCI card to add a firewire port to my PC for years until it stopped worked (and damaged my motherboard). Using this cable is a much better alternative even though speed is not as fast as the PCI card.
