Q: Do they fit large men?

I think they would fit a larger person even better. In case you need an idea how much larger, I measured from my pants top on the left side, up my back and over the right shoulder to the pants top on my right side. My measurement is 44" and the suspenders will adjust to a measurement of 52". This suspender is described as 48", and the Hold Up Suspender Company also sells an XL size they call 54". I would guess that would add another 6" to the above measurement.

Q: Also wondering if they will clip onto thin material like maternity nylons or leggings.

I never tried on these items. I imagine they would work on "maternity nylons" well enough. The clips should grip the material, but if the material is really thin, it might tear. The clips would also grip "leggings" well enough but these suspenders will pull the material up near your belt line. Do you want your leggings pulled up that high? I only ask that because I have never worn leggings.

Q: i am 58 are these to long?

5'8"...? These are adjustable and can easily fit a 5'10" guy.
