Ernie Ball Super Slinky Nickel Wound Bass Guitar Strings, 45-100 Gauge (P02834)

Ernie Ball Regular Slinky bass strings are a go-to for a reason. The 50–105 gauge gives a solid, balanced feel that works well for both fingerstyle and pick playing. Right after installing them, the tone is bright and punchy, and after a little break-in they settle into a warm, full sound with plenty of clarity. They feel smooth under the fingers without being slippery, and the tension feels just right. Not too stiff, but still enough resistance to dig in when you want more attack. They hold tuning well and stay consistent through longer practice sessions and rehearsals. Overall, these are reliable, great-sounding bass strings that deliver exactly what you expect. If you want dependable tone, good durability, and a familiar feel, these are an easy choice.

These are great strings with a bright sound and super easy playability. However, keep in mind that these are very low-gauge strings. If you prefer a bit of tension or "fight" in your strings, these are not for you. They feel very light under the fingers, which is perfect for some, but might feel too "loose" for others.

These give a nice blend of punch, growl, warmth, and brightness for all-purpose playing. I have super-slinkies on my 4-string for a more aggressive tone, but this is a nice middle-of-the-road string. They're easy to play, not so thick as to prevent you from shredding (I have super-thick flatwounds on my fretless and it's impossible to shred with those). They go bad more quickly than Elixers or other coated strings, but I prefer the brighter tone of these.

First off, I want to say that I am a finger player, I play in tunings from E standard to B standard but D standard mostly. I do not use a pick (may matter to the pick players considering these strings) and I have been playing bass for about 8 or 9 years and have tried a great variety of strings out there. D'addarios, GHS, DR, Rotosound, Dean Markley, so on and so forth. When I first started playing bass I wanted to try out a lot of strings just to find the perfect sound for me. I am a metal bass player mainly. I also play classic rock, blues, whatever. ANYWAYS, I recently bought a Schecter Stilleto Studio 5 bass. It came loaded with regular slinkys and I was super impressed. Before then I was a DR guy. They had awesome tone but didn't last as long as I needed. So I bought another pair of regular slinkys. Then I was starting to realize I wasn't getting a punchy high end on the regs. Also the "E" string was just a tad too.. I guess loose would be the word. You would think that the regulars would have a 105 on the "E" string but they have a 100.. weird. So I upped to these strings and wow did it make a huge bit of difference. Nice punch through crisp high strings and a nice fat warm crisp on the low. Not too bright, not too dull. They are incredibly cheap and they last a long time. I don't need to pop them in and out every month or 2. They sound good to me with any type of music. Hope this helps. Thanks for reading.

these are the best bass guitar strings to buy.

Bought these for our Grandson who recently started playing bass. Put the strings on a very old Jackson bass I've had in the closet for years. The strings sounded good and felt good. The only issue I had was the E string sounded a little dull, not as bright as the other strings. Other than that i feel it was a good purchase. Not a bad price either. I even got an extra set for my own bass. I'll buy again.

They feel really nice and sound full and warm. I liked the Fender strings that came on my classic vibe 70s jazz bass and so those have been my go to, but these share top spot in my ranking of faves.

Ernie Ball strings are affordable, reliable, and always available. As a bassist going for darker sounds, stepping up to these chonks certainly helped!! Immediately noticed the difference, and can't imagine I will ever use a standard gauge string set on my metal 4 string again!! I will have a few sets of these as backups at all times now.

Good Strings .Sound Great

Sono un set “classico” pensato per chi cerca affidabilità, feel familiare e un suono bilanciato senza estremi. Si collocano nella fascia di corde versatili: abbastanza brillanti da uscire nel mix, ma con una componente di medio-basse piena che resta presente anche quando le si suona con più forza.​ Tensione media: non durissime, ma neanche “spaghetti”; adatte sia a fingerstyle che a plettro, senza stancare troppo la mano destra. Il rivestimento in nickel le rende scorrevoli sotto le dita, con meno rumorini di scorrimento rispetto all’acciaio più grezzo. Attacco definito, con una brillantezza iniziale che poi si assesta su un timbro più caldo e rotondo dopo qualche ora di utilizzo. Buona presenza sulle medie, quindi il basso resta riconoscibile e leggibile anche in mix più affollati (rock, pop, funk, worship, ecc.). Non sono corde “eterne”, ma hanno una durata più che onesta per l’uso regolare: perdono un po’ di brillantezza col tempo, mantenendo però un suono ancora utilizzabile e musicale. Non essendo trattate/coated, chi ha sudore molto acido potrebbe notare un decadimento più rapido, ma restano comunque affidabili per diverse settimane di utilizzo normale. Ottime se cerchi un set standard, facile da trovare, dal comportamento prevedibile e con un rapporto qualità/prezzo corretto. Meno indicate se vuoi un un suono molto vintage e scurissimo tipo flatwound. ​

Erniball est une référence pour tout les musiciens à cordes. La brillance reste assez longtemps et les basses sont bien profondes, et les aigus bien défini (sans être crillard). Je jouais sur Élixir, mais au final, même en changeant de cordes plus souvent, les erniball reste beaucoup plus économique, et sonnent très bien. Aucun regret!!
