EXCELSTEEL6-Quart Stainless Steel Mixing Bowl

The 3/4 quart mixing bowl is a nice small size bowl measuring about 6 1/2" in diameter at the top (which is it's widest point) and is approximately 2" high. I actually purchased this bowl not for food use but instead as a "toy" for my 2 year old daughter. She loves this stainless steel bowl and has found many creative uses for it. Sometimes it's a mixing bowl for her play food, in the bath tub it becomes a toy boat, at points it's a hat, and she loves that it's shiny. I just love that it's made of a fairly safe and sturdy material and not plastic like the majority of children's toys. It's also much easier to clean than most toys...just toss it in the dishwasher occasionally. The bowl has been dropped on quite a few occasions and still looks brand new with no dents, dings, or scratches so it seems pretty durable. I would highly recommend it for whatever use you, or your children, have in mind.

While this is not built with heavy gauge metal I deem it is more than adequate for kitchen use. It is also light weight, so, I turn it upside down and use it as a wok top cover. So far so good. I'd buy it again.

We've been doing a lot more baking this year and, with only one mixing bowl, it became a nightmare. So, in desperation, I ordered this  ExcelSteel 220 4-1/4-Quart Stainless Steel Mixing Bowl  - mainly because it was big and on sale ($4.51, at that time).After several months of use, I feel I can offer an honest review.I - for the most part - really like this bowl. It's big, it's got a flat bottom inside, it's not overly heavy, and it cleans like a dream. There hasn't been a recipe, so far that was too large for the bowl. With the flat bottom, I don't have ingredients that miss getting mixed in. And, no matter what I make, a little soap, hot water, and zip-zip - it's clean.But, for some of the same reasons, I only gave it 4 stars:1) It's light - meaning, unless you have a good grip, it moves around a lot. 2) Being wider than deep, ingredients do tend to 'jump out,' if I'm rushing or being (as normal) less-than-careful. 3) It is NOT good for use with electric hand mixers; the inside scratches like a dog with fleas.All in all, I do like the bowl. But, next time, I'll probably go for something a little heavier with a more durable finish.

I would have liked to have been told the dimensions of this bowl, not just the volume. This bowl is only 4” tall and 13 1/2” diameter at the rim

Quality stainless steel. I've had mine for almost a year now and with weekly use and washing i have yet to see any fading or rusting in the steel. I've even dishwasher cleaned these bowls a few dozen times. I'm very pleased. Perfect size for mixing up sauces, salads, or tossing wings/fries.
