So far it's staying put and working well
We bought this for my wife's car. I didn't even know this existed, except I noticed it on my car, the same year and model as hers, but purchased at a different dealership. So we added this to her car to protect the door edges. I was expecting it to fall off after some time since it's basically just sticks on with an adhesive, and we live in central Florida where the sun and heat are brutal in the summer along with a lot of heavy rain. She parks her car outside during the day when she works, so the car is exposed to all of this, and so far (after 4 months) it hasn't started peeling off yet, so hopefully it will continue to last. It was easy to apply -- simply cut to length and stick it on the front edge of the door, then wrap it around and push it down as you move from top to bottom. I had to peel it back a few inches and try again a couple of times while trying to following the curves and folds of the door's body panel, but I was ultimately able to get it on with no folds or bubbling. Since it's clear, it's barely visible unless you look carefully once it's applied.

6 months and going strong (ish)
This edge guard is a rather thick, clear tape that adheres to the edge of your door, in order to protect it from damage. I haven't made it a point to smash my door into anything, but i've had this product on for 6 months and so far it's holding up well to weathering. It all but disappears once installed and sticks like crazy. I chose to install it wet, as it allows a bit more time to position and get the air bubbles out. In a day or so, the moisture will escape and it will hold just as if it was installed dry. If you can't apply scotch tape without messing it up, don't buy this. This is a great product, but you need to read the directions, follow them, and take your time. If you do it carefully, you'll have a professional-looking install at a low cost. If you're not the patient and handy type, find a friend who is. Buy them a beer, then give them a pair of scissors and a spray bottle. Maybe not in that particular order... October 2011 Update: Some folks have commented that this stuff isn't all too durable. I'm starting to agree, but also don't know what else would really replace this product. I've since replaced my original installation, as the "pointy" part on my door edge did wear through all the way. I open my doors very carefully, but i do own a 2-door car (long doors). When i park in your typical California "compact" space, there isn't much room to open the door. I often have to let my door touch the adjacent car. This light use has led to the material wearing through after a few months of use. For this reason, i've knocked my review down to 4/5 stars. Removing the old product was easy and it came off cleanly. I've since redone both door edges with a new strip of material. I've also added a 2nd layer over the one spot i had trouble with wear. Overall, i still think this is a good product, but it's not bullet-proof. July 2014 Update: Just redid our 2-door car again, as after a couple years, the material was showing some wear. It came of pretty clean after 2+ years in the California sun. A quick wipe with alcohol removed any bits of residue. It was 15 minutes to do. I've started applying the product dry. I start with the outer side of the door. Once that's stuck on, I massage the material around the edge and inside of the door. Looks great.

Easy to apply
Easy to apply. I like that it's 100 ft long so plenty to go around all the doors and the trunk.

Xpel has the best ppf
Xpel has great PPF. A little bit more difficult to cut than other brands but that's good because it offers more protection. I do see the complaints about the product cutting with strands. I didn't notice one or two strands in the pieces that I installed but it wasn't a big deal. I'm sure when cutting a three-quarter inch strip of PPF it would be almost impossible to avoid this. The instructions did not say to install it wet but I installed it just like any other PPF with slip solution and it looks great

It's okay
Like others have said, the edges on the roll aren't the most uniformly cut. While the edges also sometimes string off, I would recommend checking your strip before peeling and applying it. The strings come off pretty easily otherwise. I tried putting this on dry, but it kept leaving adhesive streaks/stripes/smudges underneath. Spray a little water before applying in order to smooth these out and make it much more transparent. Considering that this offers 110 feet of end guard tape, I guess I can't be too upset. Especially since it was my oopsie that caused the need for it!

Great Product - Does as advertised
WOW, this "tape" was very easy to apply to my doors. It looks great and you can hardly see it; as compared to the ugly plastic door guards you can buy at a local auto store. I plan to buy more for my wife's car and gifts. I see other reviews and questions that I should address: 1. I have only had this for about a month. Looking very good. 2. This film appears rubberized. It should protect my door and the "other car" door from the occasional dings. This tape is NOT heavy duty for a careless door opening with some force. 3. Watch the video on the Xpel web site for installation tips and take your time. Proper cleaning is essential. The tape only covers about 1/8" inside and outside. It's very inconspicuous and hardly noticeable. I cleaned with the alcohol and it sticks very well. I did it on a warm day. The tape does wrap around curves well; just take your time. 4. The company web site does show a wider tape (.5") if you want that size. But, I could not wrap any more on the inside of the door and I don't need a lot on the outside of the door to protect it from dings. 5. The 12 feet you do get should do 4 doors. If you plan to do more than 2 cars, just buy the larger roll of the .38" tape.

This is a great option for capable and patient DIYer’s. Product is of high quality and be sure to wipe your door edges with alcohol prior to applying. I used a heat gone for 1-2 minutes to ensure adhesion. Worked great!
