The best one fr the best price
Have ordered one of these for my Fire and Safety Dept. fr college. Had a fire drill at our college and was adviced to keep such items handy in case of emergency. Have not used it yetIt can extinguish small fires. It consists of a sheet of fire retardant material like fibre glass which can be placed over a fire in order to smother it.Pros:It is very easy to use by anyone to extinguish a small fire.It is easy to handle.No maintenance is required.And I prefer to buy this for home purpose since it can be used to extinguish kitchen fires too.

I ordered 2 quantity, out of which one is good quality, but 2 nd is worse lots of fibre thread are coming out.

Torn and dirty along fold lines
The first piece had the same problem. The exchanged piece also had the same problem. Looks likel the items in stock have this issue.This means that you will not be able to deprive the fire out of oxygen completely and the blanket will not be very effective...

Useful, fibreglass particles can cause pain and itches.
Useful product. Keep one. It is mentioned that you can use this to cover yourself during a fire. I opened the blanket and put on me to check length, after a while I was fully covered with fine fibreglass particles poking all over me and a few rashes. It pokes the skin and I had to apply scotch tape to my hands and remove to get rid of the sharp particles. I spoke to the customer care guy they said it isn’t harmful though.

The loose thread of the product easily caught fire.
There were loose threads in the pack. Out of curiosity, I showed it on a flame. It quickly caught fire, faster than a nylon/plastic material.If you cover a full flame, the blanket may put off the fire, by cutting off oxygen. But there is no guarentee of the size of a fire in real life.A 'fire' blanket should be more fire proof than a conventional jute sack. Hence returned the product.
