a cut above. absolutely outstanding
I was looking for a new medium-slim (laptop, cables, charger, notepad, pens) brief for my m2 air. I compared this to * Mosiso vertical 13.3 $30 * tomtoc 360 13 $33 * targus city fusion 13-14 $40 At 1/3 the price, it should have been obvious that the thule would be head and shoulders above. For my 16" mac pro I have had gauntlet sleeves and the larger subterra before and enjoyed them, however I stopped using the large subterra and went with a full on messenger bag for a few years now. Now that I am downsizing to the m2 air, I wanted an appropriately small bag to go with. The targus is ok! fantastic for its price! I won't go into more detail since this is a review of the thule, but it was actually hard to commit to the thule vs targus, since targus was above the line of good enough. The deciding factor was that for an m2 air, the targus was TOO roomy. The 13-14 is the smallest size and my 16" MBP actually fits perfectly in it. If I wanted an either/or brief I would probably select the targus. But I can still use my messenger bag in that case or the rare case when I want to carry both. The tomtoc was fine and actually holds a priority mail envelope, while at the same time being nice and snug on the mba thanks to the high amount of padding and the robust corner design. I really like it. But I didn't look at too much beyond that because they didn't add a shoulder loop. come on guys. Also, it can't hold a priority mail envelope. Maybe not a deal killer if everything else lined up but that plus the no shoulder provision ruled it out for me. It's too bad because I rather like the styling. The mosiso just felt cheaply made with cheap parts. They have a hang tag for the YKK zippers. I mean if you're highlighting the zippers, at the expense of everything else, I don't know if that's a good sign. Even at its lower price point, I found it doesn't stack up against others and its rating isn't justified. Now it doesn't seem like I've been talking about the thule, but actually the thule shines in all the aspects I just mentioned. Super compact, just right for mba. The shaped box construction means it looks nice and neat regardless if you have it empty (just mba) or packed (mba + accessories). The luggage pass through is well placed and not an eyesore like on some other bags. The material feels nicer (like a duffel) vs the others which had a slicker and cheaper feel. The 2 issues I have with the thule are a) the carry handle doesn't retract. It's fixed in the "carry" position. If I find I never use it I might cut it off to have a cleaner look. Also the carry handle is just ballistic nylon like the bag itself. I like the brown leather of the tomtoc, and wish thule had given a similar treatment to the subterra, esp at this price point. this isn't enough of a concern for me to take away a star. b) there isn't a good spot for my readers. in my messenger bag i carry them in a hard case in one of the exterior drink pockets. it's perfectly suited for that. in the subterra, i'd have to carry them in the exterior pocket where they will add significant bulk and take a spot where I want to carry an SSD. I don't know how thule could have accommodated this in such a slim bag, and none of the others can do it either, not even the bulky targus, but it is a thing. I might try to do a little carry satchel that I can attach to the shoulder clip. It will flop around so not sure that is going to work. maybe i can make a thing that clips under the carry handle, horizontally. then again, the reader carry case i have is quite substantial, as suited for an exterior pocket. I will try a slimmer case for the interior pocket and maybe that will be fine. I can't subtract a star for this either, as the bag is intentionally just-big-enough and having an exterior drink pocket would be a disaster for the size of the bag. TLDR: buy this if you have the budget, and need more than a sleeve.

Nice Case!
It fits my MacBook just right. Nice padding and the color inside is not black (like every other case I have ever gotten) so you can see if something is lurking inside! Such as a charger that is also black.

Perfect slim messenger bag for my Tech needs
My old slim and lightweight Thule laptop messenger bags strap tore off after two years and I needed a replacement. Thule couldn't replace the bag since it isn't made anymore and offered me to choose any comparable bag and I chose this one after much research. The straps on this new model is sewn on much sturdier and I don't see why this bag won't last a long time. This bag fits my needs perfectly as a person in the tech field. It even has a luggage strap to attach to my carry-on when traveling for business. Here is what I normally pack in this bag without it looking bulky at all: 13" HP Ultrabook + travel charger 11" iPad Pro A portable USB-C/USB Charger for mobile devices Usb-c adapters Power Beats Pro Sun glasses Pens A slim wallet to carry cards that I need, but don't use too often. A hidden Tile tracker Loose change Lipbalm

Nice well-contructed attache although on the small side
I have used a Thule laptop attache for many years, and wanted to replace it when it finally started wearing out. I have a 14 inch MacBook Pro. The laptop fits nicely into the bag, however, there really isn't a lot of room for much else. I also found the front pocket difficult to access, as the zipper only opens at the very top. If all you need to carry is a laptop, this is a well-made comfortable to carry bag. If you need more room, as I did, upgrade to a larger Thule model.
