A professional add to your professional equipment
The Godox SL60W can be considered a go to light for filmmakers/photographers even without a tight budget. I received my Godox SL60W very well packaged and secured. The styrofoam in the box takes the form of the light for double the security so there is most likely no worry on returning this item because of broken/damaged parts. The Godox SL60W is fairly light, yet has a very sturdy and solid build. It also has ribbed patterns on the top and bottom for extra grip while carrying from the handle on the back of the light. This light can easily be placed on any standard light stand or c stand with no worries. There is a handle like knob that can be loosened to change the tilt up or down. The tilt function does not have a smooth transition between each position, but it still allows you to lock the desired direction and it prevents the light from common accidents while changing the tilt direction. The Godox SL60W is all about your safety and its security. It comes with a standard reflector that can be easily taken off with a latch on the right front of the light to be replaced with a lamp cover after a long shoot continuing the integrity of the bulb. The function of the Godox SL60W is very easy to get the hang of. You can simply plug the light in a power supply and hit the "on/off" switch. On the bright lcd screen are a few options that will make you love this light even more. There is a "set" knob that can be turned left and right (10% - 100%) for the brightness of the bulb and pushed in to confirm channels. There is a GR/CH button that you push to access the channels and letters so you can save brightness presets. This becomes an even bigger convenience with the remote which allows you to access each channel without touching the light. The remote also allows you to turn off the bulb for a quick downtime situation just by clicking the power button on the remote. When I first turned on the light I was highly impressed by the smooth and bright dispersion ratio. I was even more impressed when I saw that the bulb's intensity was only at 10%! The light dispersion kept its consistency with and without the reflector. I have one picture showing an example of what this light can do at 10% with a camera iso of 640 and f-stop of 2. My overall experience with the Godox SL60W so far has been a filmmaker's/photographer's ideal situation in the realm of lighting.

Awesome light
This light has been awesome for us, super dependable and reliable, for the past year or so. Ran on average 5 hours a day 6-7days a week, 70-100% power .. that’s well over 300 days throughout the year without any problem what so ever. Not because I use this light on a set, but because I bought it planning to use it, but ended up in our living room proving bright light evenly throughout my living room

Great inexpensive fill or kicker. Wonderful softbox!
I’m going to start by saying this is a “great bang for your buck” product. I have a few minor gripes, so one star off. Though I’ve only had the SL-60/Softbox package for a day, I’ve had it constantly plugged in at my house and I’ve been totally annoying my animals with it while taking down the Christmas Tree.I’ll say this now; anyone who thinks a 60 watt LED through any kind of diffusion is going to be sufficient for a main portrait light is going to be disappointed. This is not the fault of the light, you just need something brighter for that unless you’ve got very slow moving subjects and you shoot fairly wide open. But for a hair light, or adding some fill, this is great! The light seems heavy duty enough, though I was a little disappointed that they went with plastic for the mounting block. Seems like they should’ve gone with metal for one of the two parts that take the most stress. Time will tell. ABS can be surprisingly resilient. The Bowen’s mounting system is a winner for me, however- the little release pin seems like an afterthought. It works fine, but the execution seems unrefined. I own 3 Godox AD-400 monolights and am extremely impressed with their build quality. The build quality of the SL-60 seems like a vestige of a time before Godox started really gaining attention. Is this a Aputure 120d killer? I’m not sure-I don’t have one of those. I kind of doubt it, and here’s why: Batteries. I own a mixed bag of fairly inexpensive LED panels and COB spots (like this) and they all have the ability to be powered by v-mount batteries. This relatively simple option is a really nice thing to have. The power cord it comes with is high quality and nice and long. No transformer brick, which is nice! The remote seems to work fine, though I’m not super jazzed about the 433mhz band it uses. Also, though I don’t have one, the design and build quality are apples to oranges. That said, though- for the money? The SL-60 is fantastic. But wait- here’s the really surprising thing; I was getting ready to really rip on the quality of the softbox before I even received it. I’ll admit, I’m a bit prejudiced against these cheap softboxes that usually come with these packages. I’ve gotta say, this may now be my best softbox (and I come from the era when Chimeras were the only game in town)! It’s almost too heavy duty! The color is great (so many alter the color of the light) the material used on the diffuser is a kind of quiet, almost rubberized fabric that would clean off easily, and the attached, easy set-up Speedring/rod system is convenient and doesn’t have the central rod than most quick setup softboxes have. Nice bag too, that you can stuff everything into (light, power cord, reflector, remote, and softbox).Pros:Nice & Bright for 60 watts.Bowens accessory mount.Nice long heavy duty power cord with no transformer brick.Quiet fan.The body of the light seems robust.Top quality softbox with a nice bag that holds the whole package.Price, Price, Price!Cons:No battery option.Build quality seems lacking but adequate.Design seems dated.Plastic mounting block.433mhz remote frequency.

Minor obstacle major recovery
The light quality is amazing first off, secondly I just want to say I really appreciate how customer service handled my issue. When my light was delivered it was cracked on the plug and when I told Erica she got me a new one right away.... For that Im grateful...

Light is great but parts of the softbox were missing, and no ETA for replacement
The light seems nice but they failed to include the internal frame for the softbox rendering it useless. Though under warranty still they told me I would need to wait for the part and it was unclear when that would be (and that I would just need to wait). What? I would have just bought the light, because that's all I have that works now. Sooooo be wary, customer service is really not that terrific and if they mess up it could take some time to get what you need.
