Thankful To Find This Gem!
I love this sleeve. I have found nothing else like it anywhere and I searched everywhere! Our dog had surgery 3 weeks ago and his wound is on his upper thigh. Not one bandage stayed up, not even the vet's. I ordered the sleeve and waited for Amazon to have it back in stock and now ordering my second so I can wash one. We were changing the bandages every day up to four times a day. His staples came out due to too much energy. He's 14, but would not just lie down. Finally after the second surgery, the staples came out again and we decided to do wound care. I am telling you, there is not once that the bandages stayed up until we got this sleeve. I did add an ace bandage around his waist to make sure the ties are attached, but I now know that is not necessary. The string is plenty long enough to reach is collar. I did get a harness, but it's not necessary, yet. The other two ties go around his middle section. I bought a medium and it fits him well. He a 40 pound dog. I am in caretaker heaven right now! I highly recommend this product!

Difficult to get on and stay on
We bought this for a 90# Doberman with an open wound on her leg hoping it would prevent her from licking. It is very difficult to get on and once we figured out the strings she was unable to lean over and drink water without choking herself. We gave up and as we removed it, it stuck to the wound and that was not fun for her or us. It looks cute, reminds me of scrubs, but really didn't work for our dog.

worked pretty well, but fit was off
I bought this for my dog following her knee surgery. for the first week or so, she also wore a harness that allowed me to hold her back legs off the floor when she walked. the leg sleeve tied into the harness very securely, stayed in place, and kept her from licking her surgery incision. after I removed the harness and just used the sleeve by itself, it didn't stay in place nearly as well and would slip off, especially overnight. she is a pit bull/boxer mix, so a pretty wide body and neck; it may fit better for other types of dogs. I was worried that the cotton material may get easily soiled and smelly, but it never did.

Good alternative to a cone
Used this instead of a cone after TPLO surgery on my 62 lb boxer/bulldog mix. It was effective at preventing her from licking/scratching. I liked that it is breathable to allow healing. This was the exact same sleeve that the surgeon sent her home with. Yes, is is rather difficult to figure out how to put on, but once I did it a couple of times, it was not difficult. It did slip off easily until I made an extra loop to thread the string through. That seemed to help prevent slipping. I purchased this one to alternate while I washed (by hand) the other one. Overall, this was much better for my girl instead of a cone for 2 weeks. I even kept it on for a few days after staples were removed as it seemed to make her more careful of that leg. We are still in the healing process and are going for follow up x rays next week. This product helped quite a bit if it fits properly - be sure to measure.

Works in a pinch but not ideal. Good idea, poor execution.
Works in a pinch but not ideal. I got a blowup pillow cone for around the neck which works great. I bought this leg sleeve as a deterrent for my other dogs licking the wound. It’s better than nothing but it only stays up and in place as long as the dog doesn’t get up or lay down. Then I have to adjust and re-cover the affected area. With some design modifications it might work better but now I’m just wishing I’d been able to find a set of simple dog pjs to do the trick. At least it wasn’t crazy expensive and as I said, better than nothing.

Perfect for my dog’s TPLO recovery
This sleeve is really great for my dog’s recovery from his TPLO surgery. I ordered the XL and he’s a large 73lb lab, Irish setter, poodle mix. He has a lean build. (Picture of full body included for body type reference). The breathable and loose fitting cotton material is great for incision protection. The material also will easily show a wet spot if the your dog starts licking the area to let you know if you need to remove it and throw it in the dryer to keep incision area dry. The ties are not anything that will withstand much handling and they fray but I tied a knot at the end of each and that has prevented any further fraying. I’d keep a dollar store sewing kit on hand just in case. The cost for hospital gown material and how not super durable it is, is remarkably overpriced but honestly this is exactly what I needed to keep my dog’s incision dry and covered so that makes up for it. I don’t think this will fit a wide range of body types but for a lean build and proportional height it will do the trick. There are other length options on the brand’s website. Would recommend for the right build.

So Disappointed - Could NOT Get This to Work
Like most pet lovers, I hated the thought of putting the dreaded cone on my dog after a surgery on her hind leg. I was so excited to see the positive reviews on this. I should have read more closely how each of the positive reviews had to rig up some other mechanism to get it to work. Most had a harness that they attached it to. I don't have a harness. I tried adding all kinds of straps to what it came with to get it to work but the back strap (even the ones I added) just slipped off the back of her rear . She then just drug the thing around still connected to her collar. The problem is that the strap that goes to the neck (which is almost too short to tie comfortably on my dog) is not attached to the strap that goes around the waist (also very short). It's attached to the sleeve at the same point which means it actually runs along the side of the dog not down the back as pictured. There's nothing to keep the back strap from falling off. Don't waste your money. What's worked better than anything so far is gauze pads and the white medical tape (thin, 4"-wide, breathable stuff from 3M). I thought the tape would stick too much to her fur but it doesn't hurt her when I pull if off. I add to that a thin sock-like tube from my husband's foot surgery and secure it at the top with the tape.

Amazing product that actually works
these are amazing! I tried almost 10 other brands that would always slide off but these always stayed on. My 100 LB Lab had her both knees replaced so I stocked up on these as I was using 1 every day, sometimes 2. I highly recommend, just be sure to measure your do first. Don't guess. I did that and the first batch I ordered was the wrong size.
