Less than 140 recipes, not ‘over 200’ as claimed
Pros: attractively presented recipes with plenty of photos.Cons:- The cover states over 200 Recipes. There are in fact less than 140. Even adding variations, the total is still well under 200. The claim of over 200 recipes is misleading and a blatant misrepresentation.- The index is not very useful, being an alphabetical list of recipes. What is missing is an index by ingredient so for example if I want a recipe with anchovies, it would tell me which recipes have anchovies as an ingredient.I have resorted to making my own index! See photos.

What a brilliant book - definitely recommended
At last a book with all the 'basic' dressings, PLUS lots of great easy ideas with plenty of variety to use the abundance of recipes. I am so pleased I bought this book at the start of the summer. It is going to be used a lot over the coming months.

The best "cookbook" I own
I love this book - there are so many interesting recipes to try that my salad is never boring. I have had it for a few weeks now and have tried several recipes with great success. Some dressings turn out so well you just want to eat them with the spoon. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to make their salads more interesting. The only criticism I have is that the book doesn't offer suggestions of what type of salad will go with which dressing.

Aesthetically pleasing,several suggestions
I just received this book and can’t wait to start making the recipes, they all look terrific. . As an artist, I find this book to be quite nice—terrific photos, lots of them. I love the variations of the color of the pages, as well. Looks like an artist designed it. There are three things, though, that would make this book 5 stars for me. When it arrived, I went through and read every recipe and think about them. I decided to make the honey mustard first. I looked in the back index, no honey mustard. I had to go through the whole book again before I came to “Spicy Honey Mustard.” I had also decided to make the potato salad dressing. Same thing. I couldn’t find it in the index because it only listed as “Pesto Potato Salad dressing. I had to go through all of the pages (both of these recipes are page 200+) again. I’d forgotten the beginning adjective of the name of the recipe. Since, in both cases, there is only one honey mustard and one potato dressing, it seems to me that expanding the index to include the listing as just “honey mustard” or “potato salad” would be helpful and time saving—or expanding the table of contents. There are more examples, but these are the two I had to deal with, so far.My second comment has to do with the aesthetics versus the practicality. As I mentioned, I love the look of the book. I love the variations in the color of the pages. But, on some of the dark pages, the choice of color and typeset for the text is hard to read. More contrast would be appreciated, especially when trying to see the recipe in lower light situations. I also like to write notes on the pages of my cookbooks. The dark pages make it challenging. Finally, I would guess that your market for this book has a lot of vegan/vegetarian people. It would be helpful to mention plant-based substitutions for things like anchovies and anchovy paste. Some common substitutions (like bacon) are widely known by plant eaters, but not some of the more unusual, like anchovies.Just a thought.Anyway, I look forward to trying all of the recipes, very soon.
