Q: Can you find burried wires in walls?

I do not think so. That is not where this tool is intended for. It can identify individual wires in a multi core cable. The identification tip needs to be really close the the individual wire you want to identify.

Q: I have a bunch of speakers in our home that terminate in a closet. I have to determine which wires map to which speakers. Does this work for that?

It should as you'll just connect the tone generator to one end and then wave the 'sniffer' around the other ends to see when it lights up. I'm guessing you're doing it this way instead of plugging in one speaker at a time and seeing where it gets noisy because there aren't any speakers at this point?

Q: How do you test for continuity?

This tester does not test continuity. You need a multimeter to perform that test.
