Installed in a 2004 Ford Explorer Sport Trac 4.0 engine
In Alaska. My previous same brand Block heater shorted out after 18 years use and 110,000 miles on the vehicle. I removed the old one very, very easily, which surprised me, and quickly installed the replacement. Torquing it properly with no leaks afterward. However. the previous plug in cord to the heater itself pointed down and away from the exhaust header. The replacement cord once plugged into the heater pointed upwards, and NO I did not install the heater upside down, it was pointed to the 6:00 position as per the application, and the direction of the old heater . It WAS the cord plug in at the block heater direction. So, I just opted to reuse the cord already in place and kept the other cord as a backup. I could have used the new cord, but there would have been a semi-sharp bend in the cord to point it forward and away from the exhaust manifold, which would have worked, it was just my personal choice. It has been a week of using the vehicle after the new heater installation and No Leaks. Ex-Jet engine mechanic.

Easy install.
New Review:I've had this thing in and out of my engine 3 f@#$ing times now. Cannot keep the piece of crap from leaking all over my driveway no matter what I do. I'm about to silicone the every loving crap out of this thing.Just finished reinstalling it, double checking everything 50 times, and as soon as the engine block gets coolant to the block heater it just starts leaking all over again. I'm about to just beat a damn frost plug back in the hole and be done with this pile of junk.Old review:Pretty straight forward install on a 78 f250 with a 400mRemove starter, knock out the frost plug. Clean the hole, install.Tested right around 600 watts as advertised.

Great block heater for the price!
I installed this unit on a 2002 Silverado with the 4.8L V8 Vortec gas engine and i have to say it really does make a difference in starting when it’s cold out. I live in the Midwest and last winter we had some single digit days with -25+ windchills and the truck seemed to definitely turn over quicker. I know for a fact helps keep the wear down on the engine with the warmer oil and block. The heater is probably as powerful as it can get for a small block like that but it would be nice to have it a little more powerful heat wise but it does get really hot! Don’t ask me how I know😂. Really good buy I don’t regret it!

460 gasser
installed onto my 460 big block for the cold winter mornings. after leaving the truck plugged in over night in an average of 5 degree weather the truck started right up and was at about 125 degrees, ready to rock and roll. took about an hour to put in and has been well worth the time saved compared to idling for 20 minutes for the truck to warm up.

It works! Hassle-free cold starts.
If your vehicle struggles to start in cold weather, just install this and plug in for 2-3 hours and you'll never have to worry again.Really.A++++

Simple to remove original plug and install this new block heater plug.
This part requires some minimal research to make sure it is the correct fit to your application. Tvhe manufacture has placement information too. It is almost impossible to make a a mistake on fitment. Just be sure to follow the rotation of the part to the block and you ill be golden

Was exactly what I wanted
The price for this item was awesome. Brand new product in a sealed original package for just over half of the price that the 2 auto supply stores in my town wanted for the identical item.

Installed into a low mile 1996 F150 351w 4x4
I originally thought that the install would be much more difficult than it was. Truck never had a block heater since new (USA truck imported into Canada). Installed it into freeze plug just ahead of the starter, easy to do. No leaks works perfect!

Does not fit in 1995 Ford Ranger 2.3L (4cyl)
The element of the block heater is too tall to fit into the engine. The old one is about 1/4 inch shorter than this one.
